FNMA and FMCC preferreds. In search of the elusive 10 bagger.

My wild guess is that after the unexpected losses of a senator seat in Alamaba and a PA house seat, Trump decided to postpone housing reform until next year, to avoid headline risks that puts the mid term in danger. There are still lots of things Trump wants to do, such as the border wall, so if Republicans can stay in majority for two more years, he has a better chance to get his wishes fulfilled. -

Check your messages. Could you send me one as well pls -
But what if her lawyer argues that you have been so successful at investing that your investing skills suits you a job in a HF right away? I am sure if you are looking for a trader job in a HF, people on this board will be lining up to offer you one.

Sorry to hear this. I am really surprised. I always thought a retired man with more time to spent with family would make the family better. Anyway, can you tell us what your goal is out of this divorce? Do you want to be primary custody of all your children? Do you want to provide spousal support or no spousal support? I do remember that you don't do much research and do not post often here.

except i didnt see the judge concerned with nationalization buying it And wouldn't that argument be analogous to something like: "I didn't steal your property, I just took it but I could return it under some nebulous circumstances thus absolving me of theft". as i recall this was from ms wright, treasury counsel, who was hardly inspiring confidence. it was a very weak response, which only added to her lack of credibility imo You are all correct. But we better be lucky. Does anyone know why the FHFA and Treasure are still fighting hard in these courts if they're friendly to shareholders in their future plans? Isn't a court win a good windfall for Mnuchin's shareholder friendly plan? Why aren't they weakening their stances? Because DOJ is still controlled by Obama. Just look at how DOJ refuses to hand over documents Congress requested, and how Rod Rosenstein threatened to investigate every one of Congress Intelligence committee member. If DOJ has the ball to fight Congress, it definitely has no problem fighting against FnF shareholders. -

thank you! In theory if there is some dark force dragging this case beyond 2020 when Sweeney’s term ends, what will happen? Do judges all try and get their cases wrapped before their term ends? -

Does anyone know what happens if a case is dragging on for too long and the judge's 15 year term ends? Sweeney's appointed in 2005 so that means she will finish the term in 2020. Will she be appointed again or will maybe someone else will take her place? Why is the Federal court of claims case dragging for so much longer than other cases? -
Does anyone know if there is a way to gain access, such as people did through local libraries for morningstar subscriptions?

The left side shows that pro articles are 0, but when I click into any of them, it says continue reading with a pro free trial. :(

there is a lot to learn for you. Read the classic investing books by Warren and Graham. Understand the capital structures. Understand basics about bankruptcy. I don’t think you understand that yet. Hey muscle, you surprisingly seem to know a lot about investing in spite of looking like someone who has spent most of his life at the gym! :) [/quote Ironically I haven’t spent much time in gym lately. I spent too much time there during college and got multiple injuries and no longer able to do those kinds of exercises. -

Depending on how you view investing. I think the biggest fallacy for the Graham and Buffet group is that people believe when they do their home work, their investment is a sure success. In fact it is essentially a probability game. You can do the research and improve your odds of winning but it is never a sure thing unless you trade like Steve Cohen. You can have a simple business and a great operator and you buy at a cheap price and you can still lose. This Fannie/Freddie bet is no different from this view. -

Looks like he was waiting for time’s up I think he is waiting for midterm election. His actions could create easy targets to picture the current administration as risking tax payer to enrich hedge fund -

lol there are people here who actually think the wall is a good idea? amazing. The wall is a high ROE project. The illegals are costing the country a few billion dollars a year for the social benefits, in addition to crimes they bring in. Thought you didn’t get any benefits if you’re illegal? As to crime ... when has a wall ever stopped that? lets not go off topic on that. I noticed for most political views, either people believe that from the start or never. Spending countless hours debating never changes a person’s political view. -

I think what matters more is how many conservative judges are in the appeals court. No matter how great it is, liberal judges have flexibility to interpret the law. -

Yes. What was originally a legal bet now becomes an administrative bet. We'll see what happens. I didn't expect the judicial system to be so bad that all these liberal judges bend the laws to fit their political views. -

What’s causing the sharp move up yesterday? I can’t see any news. It just seems like the market quickly brushed off the Supreme Court rejection. -

Supreme Court denied hearing. ::) Does this mean Perry case is officially dead, and the only legal pathway forward is the Sweeney case? -
Can anyone share some tips on analyzing gold miners?
muscleman replied to muscleman's topic in General Discussion
Thank you! Have you read it? Do you like this edition or the newer 4th edition? The gold miner I am eyeing on shows in the 43-101 report that the reserves have about 1 gram per ton of gold, but in its quarterly filings, they consistently report about 3-4 grams per ton of gold being processed each quarter, which is a bit strange to me. Is that possible?
