  1. How is it calculated? Thank you.
  2. Sure, but can Iran survive with no oil exports? If the population begins starving because Iran does not have the money to import food, what happens next? How long can Iran government survive?
  3. I am not fine with US attacking a European country or any country that is not a threat to us and occupying it.
  4. I found it interesting that his first wife was averse to money even though they met at Harvard Business School... Seems the first Mrs Hohn was quite a hypocrite, unless she confused HBS with a theological seminary...
  5. You feel so sorry for a destroyed synagogue, you conveniently omit the fact that Jewish were massacred by Muslims for more than a thousand years, including Hebron riots of 1929, including convert or die policies of Muslim conquerors of the Holy Land. Your religion, which I presume is Islam, calls for murdering Jews - The Text: "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say: 'O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him'" (found in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)
  6. Why isn't Israel allowed to expand on land that it won in war? If you think that way, then are you advocating for: a) Turks to leave Turkey and hand over the land to Armenians and Greeks that lived there before Turks invaded and massacred them? b) Arabs to leave Egypt and leave it to the indigenous population of Egyptians and move back to Saudi Arabia? c) Arabs to leave Syria and leave Syria to the Syrians, Assyrians, and others who have lived there before the Arab conquest? d) Arabs to leave Lebanon to the indigenous people of the land and go back to Arabia? e) Arabs to leave all territories under Israel's control today and go back to the area where they came from - Arabia/Jordan? f) All Canadians to pack up and go back to where their ancestors came from and leave the land to First Nations? g) All Americans to leave the USA and go back to where their ancestors came from and leave the land to the American Indians? h) Same as in f/g for Australia? i) French to give up Alsace and Lorraine? j) Albanians to leave Kosovo and give it back to indigenous Serbs? k) Azeris to leave Karabakh and leave it to Armenians who have lived there for 3000 years? l) Czechs to leave Sudetenland and give it back to the Germans? l) Poles to give up parts of Germany that they received If yes, o'k, I understand where you come from. If not, then why are the Israelis the only ones who are not allowed to benefit from winning a war?
  7. Thank you for posting. Does anyone know what series of interviews the article is referring to? Thank you.
  8. What's interesting is that insider buying seems to have picked up very sharply across the board in the last several days, may be a week or two.
  9. Seriously? He received 100% disability rating from VA. % of the population on disability is up 5x in the last eighty years. Look at all of the people in NY who "work" as home attendants. How can the percentage of people on disability go up that much in the last 80 years? Also, if I know six people on disability, and yet each one is capable of holding down some sort of a job, then you really think there isn't massive fraud in the system? Look at % on disability in Utah and compare to NY and California!
  10. I happen to know plenty of people who receive disability payments, and yet are certainly capable of doing work. I also know someone who has been disabled since birth who continues to work at age 70. Mr Graham Platner, the Democratic candidate for Senate in Maine I believe receives disability payments yet seems to be able to work as a farmer...
  11. I am, except for the progressive part... I had a bottle of wine with dinner last night!
  12. It only comes in handy if you use it on that 1 day out of a 1000, and unless I am mistaken, Berkshire failed miserably on those 1 out 1000 days (Fall of 2008-spring 2009, March of 2020, and there are other examples.)
  13. In the ussr, the government called people like him useful idiots.
  14. You have no idea how the world works. The USSR did not have homeless either because being homeless was a criminal offense and you would go straight to jail if you were homeless. As for statistics, I don't believe a single statistic that comes out of Cuba.
  15. Article in the real deal on may 8 claiming fifty thousand vacant rent controlled and rent stabilized apartments in the city. Also, take a look at 800 fifth avenue. 200 rental apartments being lost as the building is demolished and a new condo with fewer and larger apartments being built. Most condos will be part time residences. Shows my point that city statistics don’t reflect reality.
  16. There was no embargo on the ussr or china or Eastern Europe and none of them had goods on the shelves. There is no point in discussing this any further. Despite the fact that communism failed every time that is has been tried, over thirty times, you still believe that it can work. Good luck to you
  17. Given that every country that tried communism ended up dirt poor, and all but one did not have an embargo, with the ussr being blessed with the most natural resources per capita in the world, let’s not lie here. Cuba would have been dirt poor without embargo. You clearly did not live in a communist country, I did. We did not food in the shops, and there was no embargo against my country. The fault is not with the embargo, it is with communism. As an aside, if you steal American property don’t expect America to trade with you.
  18. Do you know any country that succeeded under communism? Every country that tried communism destroyed its economy.
  19. 10x over twenty five years is not that great… it is 9.6 percent per year
  20. Just walked on 72. Marijuana smells in several places and passed two beggars. Three homeless guys in riverside park between 80th and 84th today. Several cars running a red light on 79th and west end, traffic cop just stood there. I walk seven miles a day, trust me dog shit is everywhere. Every day a bicyclist riding on a sidewalk, dogs off leash in the park. Is it much worse than fifteen years ago? Not sure, but education system is collapsing, that is for sure. The standards dropped sharply in a couple of years ago, and specialized high schools and selective junior high schools are being destroyed. Add to it taxes that are about to skyrocket and the product that is nyc is not worth it. Keep in mind, I go to the opera, Carnegie hall and jazz clubs at least once a month
  21. I am sorry but that data does not make sense. Also, a lot of apartments that are added are super luxury to be used for part year residency, and often buildings are knocked down for new construction. If you examine new developments, you will see that. In any case, while it is difficult to figure out what an apartment is used for and whether it replaced an existing building, it is easy to look at population. Look at NYC population in 2020 - 8.8MM, 2025 - 8.585MM. So it is not growing population that is driving NYC rents up. Logically, rents should be down from 2020 to 2025, we are seeing the opposite.
  22. No. Supply of apartments for rent is shrinking. There are tens of thousands of rent controlled and rent apartments that are empty and falling apart since rents don’t justify renovation. Also, new rules on evictions and maximum rent increases make it less attractive to lease out their apartments.
  23. Which neighborhood? Uws, ues, village all have dog shit and homeless all over the streets
  24. He seems to own his own place, which helps, also if you don't live in a nice neighborhood (no Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights, most of Manhattan, chunk of Queens and Bronx) or in a very small apartment, it is doable, particularly since his kids are probably adults.
