I didn't see this coming at all. Will see how the company responds. Hard to imagine it being a fraud. ???
Its HQ is in different time zone, I expect them to respond before market open tomorrow.
I am just thinking - is copper or oil is better investment? They both have real demand, oil is not renewable, copper is somewhat renewable. But copper is more difficult to find alternative (as it's the cheapest) and is finite.
Thoughts?
Just head up, one can sell June 17 17 dollar put for TRE.TO (currently trading at 18) for 2 bucks. I liked the name and have no problem owing it for cost of 15 bucks.
Of coz, if fraud, deep trouble. But most likely not.
Agree - we can at least be patient on this one as it's generating good cash.
I think the next thing they can work on is to re-do the term loan in a more favorable term. They are paying 8.25% now. That's like junk rate. With their leverage now, there ought to be some room for improvement.
Trust me, I understand the right offering concept and get that it's not dilut"ive" in theory. But it still feel stupid to sell shares to owners at 1 and buying back a few months later with owner's cash at $1.5. If we bot back the full offering amount, we are 20millions short. :'(
share buyback? - like buying back those shares they sold at 1 buck not long ago?
Back then some of us were questioning whether they really need that right offering - I guess the answer is obviously now.
Fairfax got a free pass to average down tho.
10% treasury rate? What would be the mortgage rate? US will collapse with that. I don't see that coming at all. I see inflation coming but not to that magnitude. And inflation only really hurts if income don't increase or even decrease, right? If econ is growing again, US can stand a mild inflation without collapse.
Where are the catalysts?
I think the best way to see values is to split some assets out:
IPO MSN/Hotmail and Bing. Turn MS Office and Windows to income trusts.
Form a consultant company that works like HPQ and IBM.
IMO, it's just too big without clear focus.
Interesting find. Looks like the new formed department for RBK is doing the right things.
Can't believe Fibrek will need FDA approval just as my other biotech holdings.
Wow. At least they are consistent. (consistently bad.) History tells us if you buy after the Q tanks and sell before the Q releases. You will make some good money. I will be in if it goes a bit lower. Still holding large amount. :'(
I like this line:
Concluded an agreement with a large U.S.-based customer to supply a significant volume of RBK pulp, under a cost-plus arrangement, increasing cost-plus contracts from approximately 30% to above 50% of its sales starting in 2013
The report itself is so-so. I expected more cash.
