I am in the process of reading 'Investing the Templeton Way' and also like the book very much. The book provides many historical examples of that Templeton did at various times which I am especially enjoying. The book is also a simple read (i.e. likely targeted for novice value investors).

My key take away is I wonder if Prem's style is not closer to Templeton than Buffett:

- Prem invested heavily in the Indian stock market a couple of years ago

- Prem also is buying international insurance operations (i.e. India)

- Prem is very much an active investor (buy low and sell high) not buy and hold forever

- Prem will take large short positions

Another good one is Global Investing - The Templeton Way, as told to Norman Berryessa and Eric Kirzner.

Based on interviews with Templeton it discusses his basic principles of investing globally using lots of examples.

There is a book known as "The Templeton Touch" published in 1983 that may have more details on the man and his methods than found in "Investing the Templeton Way".

I noticed on Amazon that it is presently out of stock but they still allow orders.
