The Ride of a Lifetime: Lessons Learned from 15 Years as CEO of the Walt Disney Company - Robert Iger

Finished this one as well.

Great book and really appreciated the behind the scenes of the four major deals that created Walt Disney 3.0.

You got to respect Iger and his character. Only the very best of them, is able to manage & navigate a cast of characters, ranging from George Lucas, to Steve Jobs, Rupert Murdoch, the Marvel owner (forget name) etc, and buy out their companies. Relationships matters.

If Bob Iger was the Steve Jobs of Walt Disney, let's hope calculator-wielding Bob Chapek would be its Tim Cook.

I listened to it on Audiobook.  Very interesting seeing things from the inside and why they bought some of the things that they did, which seemed like they were overpaying at the time.

I still remember thinking that Chapek and Iger got along with some sort of mentor/mentee relationship but boy was I wrong. This was the first hint I came across back in May (below)...all evidence since seems to confirm they hate each other.

Dean, i saw that interview as well.

But i do recall another interview months later with Bob Iger, where he said, he didnt know what Diller was talking about. (of course he would say that :-))

It is kind of weird how Diller just threw that in.
