Shooter MacGavin Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 Hi, I know this has been asked before so I apologize but I can't find the answer. How does a US person invest in India? I mean directly, not through Matthews India or Fairfax India etc. Is there an online broker that can help facilitate that process? I would like to get this setup for myself personally and for my fund. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I haven't really found an easy answer online. Thank you for your help. :)
eclecticvalue Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 Apparently, IB allows you to buy Indian equities.
maybe4less Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 Apparently, IB allows you to buy Indian equities. I think that's only for Indian residents...
Shooter MacGavin Posted September 23, 2017 Author Posted September 23, 2017 Yeah IB didn't let me. I forget what they had told me about it at the time. Maybe something like you need to be an Indian citizen but I don't remember.
smathew Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 Try contacting Kotak Mahindra securities . I remember they were allowing foreigners to open accounts , though i couldn't find link now.
Shooter MacGavin Posted September 23, 2017 Author Posted September 23, 2017 ok. Thats a good idea. thanks
