iam right now reading the issue. really nice.

ackman on fannie and Freddie.

We saw this as different from Fannie (FNMA) and Freddie (FMCC) because we thought MHFI was a potential double, while we think we can make 25x our money in Fannie and Freddie. A small investment in Fannie and Freddie can still be very material in terms of profits for the firm, yet if something happens and we lose our entire investment, we won't really notice. For MHFI to be a meaningful contributor, it would have to be a big investment.

Given the fact Pershing Square Holdings is selling for less than NAV, buying its shares could be a very good way of taking advantage of Ackman’s thesis on Fannie and Freddie. :)

As long as you take into consideration the leverage created from having short positions.

anyone know of the tax/accounting implications related to $PSH in the netherlands?

I think it is foreign closed fund, so PFIC will apply. So I purchased shares in IRA accounts.
