Here's an overview of Moynihan's BAC shareholdings in recent years. He owns currently 449,655 BAC shares, and almost 2/3 have been bought before the financial crises. He owned on Aug. 20, 2007 about 259,991 shares, and all have been bought in the range between $42-52. So it's seems that on a net basis he is still underwater, but this should also considered as a driving force for his character to increase shareholder value. http://www.insidercow.com/history/insider.jsp?Cik=0001195071&company=BAC&name=MOYNIHAN%20BRIAN%20T&title=%20officer%20(Pres%20Gbl%20Bkg%20&%20Wlth%20%20Mgmt)

Relative to other large bank CEO's, and the amount of work that he had to do to turnaround BAC, it's a damn bargain! Plus his compensation is restricted to certain hurdles being met. Cheers! I know... I also voted for him in this thread.

Hotel Rooms For Fairfax Financial Dinner & AGM
berkshiremystery replied to Parsad's topic in General Discussion
Don't worry,... I know, these booking engines are sometimes troublesome to search. Now, I got myself something across the street, at York/ corner Wellington. Got the combo already last weekend at Expedia. My main consideration was the flight price, I would get it more affordable, about 1/3 less, if I would add some 2 days, thus my hotel bill would have increased. Anyway, I haven't realized while booking that the people at the Fairfax office tower might have a grand view out of their windows into the hotel room windows. ;D -
Hotel Rooms For Fairfax Financial Dinner & AGM

I appreciate your effort that you made some block of rooms available at the Fairmont. ::) I just would us bargain seekers make aware that through the worlds leading hotel MetaSearchEngine "TriVaGo.com", there are even cheaper rooms available at the Fairmont. I tried to play around for the days Tues.24 til Fri.27, and I got some single room starting at $153CDN per night. "trivago.com" crawls and harvesting over 100 different booking engines and plays arbitrage for the lowest possible price. trivago.com The worlds leading hotel MetaSearchEngine Searches over 111 booking engines and over 550446 hotels http://www.trivago.com/ I just want to make aware that "Expedia.com" also offers some good combined bookings of "flight + hotel" at incredible good prices. I myself was lazy and didn't act fast enough some months ago. ::) :-[ Forgot the exact combined price of flight + hotel, but the Fairmont came almost for nothing. I could kick my ass myself. -

Well,... here's also some nice picture of Prem & his wife Nalini,... not sure if people know her. At least Sanjeev has high regards for her. He said that she always asked him each year at the FFH AGM how he is doing and how the funds are. I guess this is the wrong message thread, but anyway... here is some pic from last October 2011. http://beta.images.theglobeandmail.com/archive/01327/society-diwali8_1327915cl-8.jpg C-IBC’s Diwali gala. @ the 8th annual Canada-India Business Council gala. http://www.kennedywilson.com/investments I just wonder why the article doesn't say right ahead the company name. Just for the unaware readers here -- Kennedy-Wilson (KW) is this company. So good to know that Fairfax has partnered with them. -

TRGT @ $5.12 looks cheap, if someone compares it with BV of $5.22 and cash of $5.84. http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ks?s=TRGT+Key+Statistics But I don't know anything else about their future earnings prospects? http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ae?s=TRGT+Analyst+Estimates It could be from extreme negative to extreme positive, but I rather think after the current situation, that earnings might be rather sluggish and nothing. Anyway I just looked into TRGT for the first time. BV could lose if the burn further money. Cheers!

I guess that mighty Amazon tries with it's new AmazonLocals.com site to compete with Groupon Inc.. Amazon has invested about $175 million in AmazonLocals. I guess that they now spend some money to push the user base up. Let's say 1 million sold Amazon Gift Cards @ $10 face value (=$10m face value), brings them only $5m, the remaining other $5m might be put up out of the $175m budget to establish this new brand. ----- Anyway,... here I add the link of "BookButler.com" for the thrifty readers ;) http://www.bookbutler.com/ BookButler.com is a meta search engine, that crawls and harvests worldwide all Amazon branches and also all Amazon PowerSellers worldwide for the cheapest available price for any specific book ISBN. It's like playing arbitrage for the lowest available book price. I'm addicted to this site, because it has reduced my yearly book expenses significantly. ;D I probably now purchase more books. ::) I feel like using house money. 8) Here's a list of all online book shops that BookButler crawls. http://www.bookbutler.com/stores.html ----- It's almost 9pm EST. The Amazon gift cards are now sold out. They just reached the 1 million mark.

tombgrt,.. Every Amazon account holder worldwide can purchase this code in US-Dollars only, at the US AmazonLocals.com site, only today, and it's valid only to shop at the US Amazon.com site !!! Just to make people aware, if somebody has an Amazon.com, uk, fr, it, ca, or de account at the worldwide Amazon branches, he or she can login with the same username and password at all the worldwide Amazon branches or vice versa. So somebody at the Italian Amazon.it can login at the British Amazon.uk. Or some American user from Amazon.com can also login at the French Amazon.fr site. I myself have shopped at the local branches often just to play arbitrage with the book prices,... ;D Occasionally an English language book is much more cheaper at one of the worldwide Amazon branche sites or at the worldwide Amazon MarketPlace PowerSellers, so I search for a certain book ISBN at a meta-search-engine to harvest the worldwide cheapest price. Today's $10 Amazon Gift code could be purchased by somebody with an Amazon.uk account, but it can only be redeemed at the Amazon.com US site, with books that can be shipped worldwide,... so also to the UK. -- Hope this helps.

I know, somebody might beat me up for posting this, :-[ because it seems like an endorsement deal. But since we all are value conscious investors and also bargain shoppers of investment books, I might get the attention of a few thrifty board members. ;D Article at USA Today: http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/story/2012-03-19/amazon-gift-card/53655794/1 I read accidentally yesterday while surfing the net, that amazon's new sister site "AmazonLocals" offers only today, Tuesday, March 21, 2012, over a period of 24 hours, probably 1 to 1.5 million of "$10 Dollar - Amazon Gift Cards" for only half price. Someone only pays $5 for a face value of a $10 Amazon Gift Card. These cards can only be purchased at: http://local.amazon.com/ http://www.amazonlocal.com Everybody can login with their normal Amazon id. This "$10 Amazon Gift Card" can be purchased electronically with a credit card, and the redeem code comes some hour later by email. It can be credited to your normal US Amazon account balance and is valid unlimited in time to purchase books or other items on Amazon.com. Unfortunately only one code can be purchased per Amazon account. I just got mine some hours ago. I will use it to get Tony Griffiths book at a bargain price. :P ----- Sanjeev might want to delete this message by tomorrow, after it has become outdated ! ::)

Sure,... at least seems so, unless Sanjeev would have taken down the payment link to purchase tickets. Here's the link: http://cornerofberkshireandfairfax.ca/ You buy the tickets at www.cornerofberkshireandfairfax.ca (top of right hand column) at the PayPal link. Everyone that wants tickets, has done it this way. Hope this helps.
