BTW, I'm writing a book on ten of Buffett's earliest investments (50s/60s). This is one of them. Happy to send a draft if you'd like.
I would love to read that if you could send that out.

Will do, Thanks

Google Stoicism and investing and you'll find many references.

Hi all, I had never heard of Fairfax before learning of this site. I was wondering if anyone could link me to good information sources regarding the company.
Thanks.

Thanks, I'm not planning to attend this year, but might do so next year especially now I'm retired/a personal investor with no other job. I hold a lot of my Berkshire in an ISA (as does my spouse) with iDealing.com which has never sent me any voting forms. I also hold some Berkshire in Interactive Brokers (UK) which lets me vote my shares online, but I've not seen anything from them about meeting credentials. Good to know that a brokerage statement from either is probably sufficient for the Will Call area.
I also hold a lot of Berkshire and was hoping to attend this year but like I have mentioned its seems incredibly difficult to get a hold of. So I think I also might be going next year. I'd love to get in touch closer to the time and see what plans you have if you decide on going.

Hi,
Thanks for the comment.
I'm currently with Freetrade for my personal shares. I contacted them about 6 months ago, make sure I was going to receive the credentials and the rest of the pack. I was basically told they didn't provide such a service and to get lost. Do you have any recommendations for brokerages that offer the simple service of sending the investors yearly package? I'm yet to find one Ha!

The process of getting credentials is pretty straightforward and I didn't bother doing it in advance. If you arrange your schedule accordingly, you can turn up at the venue the day before and go to the "Will Call" area with a copy of a brokerage statement showing a Berkshire holding. Standing in line takes longer than the credentials process which is less than a minute. Then you use the credentials to attend the following day. I used II and Eqi at the time but they weren't really clued in on the Berkshire credentials process so I just took a printed copy of the statements along on the day. Some people were also showing statements on their smartphone to get credentials

Hi all,
Are there any shareholders from the UK that are planning on attending the AGM in April? If so have you received your credentials yet and what Brokerage are you using?
Cheers

Added to my JPM position. Has anyone else?
Is there a topic on JPM on this forum? -

For the longest time, Warren Buffett was against buybacks because it was like stealing from current owners -- even though it was accretive in general. He changed his tune over the last few years... Did anyone else catch that change of heart? Also, he doesn't talk too much about 3G or Heinz -- it's a footnote.. if anything.
Is this true? I always assumed he was for the repurchase of shares.

After writing this I realise that its pretty much a pointless ramble but oh well.
I have noticed quotes and sayings over the years but never thought anything of them and definitely never made a connection. Recently however, I have been reading into to stoicism for the first time (would recommend) and noticed a few things that I would consider to be a part of a value investors mindset or values. Especially after finishing Richer, Wiser, Happier the links between these great investors and stoic philosophies is clear. Am I right in thinking there is a link or it more the fact that these great investors are well read?

I used to have a system that would just email me all the important dates for the businesses I was watching. I have since changed email and can’t for the life of me figure out how I set it up.
I’ve scrolled through google and a few other applications and I can’t find anything. Do you know where I could find this sort of info? -
Thanks for the feedback on Michael Dell. I think it has put me off permanently.

Just had a brief scan over Dell and looks like something I could be interested in. Has anyone done a recent deep dive into them?

Added to both DIS & CVS yesterday will probably continue adding to those positions on Monday.

@Fundmanagerthrwawy I'm not super active on here. A post here and there, some lurking around. But I'm always happy to answer any questions. I'm much more active on Twitter. @BRK_Student
No worries, I must say I loved the book. I tend to stay away from twitter seems very 'toxic' and I'm also not sure how to use it haha. But I'll give you a follow any way.

The book is written by someone who posts on CoBF - and at least some of you may know him.
Do you know what Adams cobf username is?
Thanks.

Hey everyone,
I'm new to cobf and I'm having a little trouble navigating to more recent content.
Does anyone know what to do?
Sorry is this is a simple answer I'm not very technically inclined.

That might be the stupidest thing I have ever read. Not too shocked that it has come from business insider though.
