  1. Love Rory Sutherland. As an other poster has raised.... when our visiting clients, the Golden Arches bathrooms are a savior.....medium quarter pounder meal and then on with business. Too easy. Sure, the food is pretty crap but it’s not about that.
  2. Ah, beverages. Reds, anything from the Barossa but Torbreck a standout. Beers, mostly mass produced euro lagers, preference is Pilsner Urquell but a Saison if I can get is my favourite. Local craft beers on tap when I'm out and about. Mixed drink, CC & Dry. And sparkling water....tonnes of it.
  3. This story rings a bell, replace Vancouver with Sydney and Toronto with Melbourne and we have a very similar set of circumstances unfolding down here.
  4. Yeah, it's been well established that the winner with Boulder is Horesji. Pass.
  5. Great thread idea. Leverage is a continuum obviously... There is a significant difference to using 7% money at 80%+ LVR and 3% money at 33% LVR. I would certainly consider the latter for long term investing if you have adequate cash cover and a reliable income stream.
  6. How about pick through the stocks in the wide moat index and pick them up at 52 week lows?
  7. Merry Christmas and the very best for 2015 everyone, from Sydney, where it's Summer and Santa does it tough :)
  8. Thanks King888 I'll have a look :)
  9. Coincidentally just ordered this book a couple of days ago, the concept certainly has appeal to a lazy investor such as myself, and who's frictional costs are not insignificant when investing in US equities. 8)
  10. SVW:AX , Diversified holding company, Industrial services, Investments and Media. Trading at 20% below net tangible assets. Daily on market buy back in place. Dividend yield approx 6%, PE 8x.
  11. Many thanks indeed for you work :)
  12. Burton Malkiel's a random walk down Wall Street is a classic and rightly so. Good advice for the Everyman.
