  1. I just gave an example. I don't know any website for in-depth analysis for European stocks. Therefore, it is more difficult to find and analyze European value stocks. If you know a good European source for information (just like Seeking Alpha or a similar board like this one but for European stocks/funds), please let me know.
  2. Hello, As an European, I have several investments in the US. (BRK's, BAC, BP,..). They are all doing quite well, many thanks to the strong dollar. Right now, I have a pile of cash ready to invest. But as dollar is quite expensive, it's not quite interesting to invest even more in the US. I'm looking for opportunities in Europe. There isn't really an alternative for specialized websites for European stocks like Seeking Alpha for Europe. That's why I am considering an European fund. Could anyone recommend some European funds that beats the European Stoxx -index or the MSCI that are worth studying? Thanks
  3. Spanish Fund Manager Parames leaves Bestinver, the award-winning mutual fund in Spain. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-09-23/parames-said-to-leave-10-billion-bestinver-fund-for-new-project.html I am looking for a new fund or ETF to move my money in. I already have BRK-B's and S&P500 and with the current EURO/Dollar rate, I wish not to buy more funds or stocks in $. Good European funds or ETF's are really hard to find. Anybody got some idea's that are worth checking out?
  4. If I read these post, I feel lucky to be born in Europe. University costs here 500 euros/year for average to rich people and only 80 euros/year for people under a certain income level. (except textbooks offcourse, that's estimated on 200 euros a year). My university degree costed me roughly 12k with all costs (university, housing, food, .. ) included. God bless America? Only the happy few I guess..
  5. Anyone knows if the Sequoia fund allows investing from outside the US? Can't find an email on their website! I am considering splitting a larger investment ($ 10 000) between an ETF (MOAT, PRFZ or CSD) and a fund (BESTINFOND, SEQUX, FVVAX or BRUFX) Any thoughts or comments on my shortlist?
  6. This is a "noobie-question", but I wonder the following, If I decide to invest in a fund or ETF, is there a "good" moment to invest a fund or ETF? Or is any moment good? In other words, does it matter how much the fund/ETF get bought or sold for the shareprice? Because a fund/ETF follows its underlying companies I would think no, but I am not sure.
  7. AKREX looks good indeed. Unfortunately, they do not allow Europeans to invest.
  8. Anyone knows a good European stock screener?
  9. Thanks for the advice! Can I get a ticker? Can't find the fund immediately. Thanks! I have contacted BestInver and the FormulaInvest funds already and they made clear I could invest from my country. The minimum investment ranges from €6000 to $ 5000. So splitting my budget between ETF and a fund is not possible.µ PS: got another question also on the risk rates. Marketwatch gives me very different 3-year risk rates (alpha, beta,..) than yahoo finance. http://www.marketwatch.com/tools/mutual-fund/compare?Tickers=FAIRX+FVVAX+SEQUX&Compare=Risk http://finance.yahoo.com/q/rk?s=SEQUX&ql=1 http://finance.yahoo.com/q/rk?s=FAIRX%2C+&ql=1 Which one is right?
  10. Good day, I am new to this forum so I take this first sentence to say hello to all members :) I am quite new to investing so my knowledge of investing and stocks is not good enough, so I think mutual funds is a good idea. I would like to hear some opinions on some mutual funds I would like to invest in. I can invest $5000 to $6000, which is not enough to build a diversified portfolio but good enough for most mutual funds. I calculated following risk values already. Anyone can share their opinion on one of these funds? http://i.imm.io/1kbgT.jpeg
