+1 - the value add from your insights are invaluable here.

I actually didn't realize the Chinese didn't have peasants. At least the regime doesn't call them names, thank goodness! Let's not get into the Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities slave labor camps.

Jaygo - your's is such a great post. There is a middle ground here. That's what much of this fight is all about - getting back to what America used to be. We're turning into our own version of haves and have nots. That's the battle. America losing it's meritocratic culture to radical wokism. The fight against our Universites being politicized and dumbed down, instead of science/engineering leaders. DEI, ESG, Climate change garbage all reducing the productivity of our businesses. Insane Green New Deal straight-jackets on energy production. Bloated, inefficient government full of waste, fraud & abuse. Destroying a border and letting 30 million illegal aliens in, with all those associated problems. This is all about fixing our OWN home grown problems, because they are destroying America. America has failed, not because of the rest of the world, but because of poor leadership. Leadership did let down millions of Americans by outsourcing so much of what we were good at. And they did it with a smile "it will be good for you in the end". That whole creative destruction argument. It has not worked out well for so many. As a country we need to find a middle ground. Unfortunately, it impacts the rest of the world. I like you, much prefer the 1985 America vs today.

Just keep sending it all to China. They'll eventually figure out how to steal the IP, like they have for years. What's crazy is continuing to let them do it. And just like that - you'll never manufacture anything again. At the same time, the US can continue to commit economic and social suicide. At least we have someone that will try and reverse it.
-
Damn @LC I'm starting to like you again
-
Working toward a balanced budget is bad? How large does the debt get before it threatens the country. Do you continue to run deficits forever and let them grow? Fine, so don't make it zero. If you shift good manufacturing jobs back to the USA - you pay people better, you increase your tax base, you very likely take people off entitlement programs. Do you agree these are very positive moves for the country? Fine, let someone else make the sneakers & textiles. Like @Dalal.Holdings mentioned - shipbuilding? you want S Korea and China controlling that? There have to be plenty of strategic manufacturing that will be great for this country. Drug, equipment, etc. The US used to be a manufacturing powerhouse obviously. IF you are a country that makes nothing, what do you really have? Is every American going to be a google or facebook programmer? The country needs good jobs for it's health and national security. There are few countries we should trust less that Mexico and China.
-
Good for you @LC That's better than the majority here: No admission of the waste, fraud and abuse in the federal budget. No admission of the debt problem. Do we keep borrowing money, since it's no big deal Things are so wonderful, we should keep running massive trade deficits for another 50 years Do blowhards in the media or democrat leaders like AOC or Cory Booker ever offer a solution to reducing our 125% debt to annual GDP?......of course not, they have NO plan to get to a balanced budget. Because any solution will be ugly and painful. And yes, Trump probably needs to do a better job communicating to the country. Somebody has to take this shit seriously - which politicians never do. They will just leave a big pile of shit for the next administration. Or hey, like old Dealraker says - maybe I'm just out of my mind and I shouldn't even worry about reducing the national debt and run trade deficits forever
-
Of course the deficit is out of control.. But you, like everyone else here does nothing bitch, moan, and criticize with never a solution. That will never change.
-
Right. It benefits the working class with millions of jobs. But it'll take a couple years.
-
The letter is a symptom of the tariff bitching and moaning problem. $37T debt, $1T annual debt service - everyone knows it, no one has the courage to solve it. Or even talk about it. It's why the tariffs exists.
-
That is exactly right. No solutions, ever. Just keep kicking the can.
-
Hahaha - That's good. You'll be happy to know I gave up my Klan membership too.
-
Great post.

You're a wonderful man @Parsad Maybe your coming over to my side???

The absolute dumbest people in America are the leaders in California. They embrace climate change, but burn down massive amounts of trees with reckless forest policies. They dump tons of carbon in the air in their quest to "save the forests" by not clearing underbrush and flushing fresh water out to the ocean. No thinning of the forests or removal of chaparrals in the driest forests we have. Absolute climate change idiots. The country can use those forests for lumbers since there are billions of trees in the USA - but CA won't cut them down, they'd rather see them burn down.
-
Oh here we go. I must be listening to AOC again - we don't have enough trees.
-
You too @Buckeye Have a great weekend.

I think we're going to go through a rough period. It would have been far worse under Kamala Harris and a continuation of a socialist leaning administration. Civil liberties - in the shitter. Prosecute your political opponents - until you jail them. Censor Free Speech - guaranteed. Parents rights - continue to erode. Endless wars with absolutely no plan - feed the meatgrinder in Ukraine - millions dead. Lunatic universities pesecuting Jews and Conservatives - more of the same. The alternative was the direction of the country. Now we have a legitimate chance to reverse ALL of this. On the economy - whoever inherited this mess was sure to get torched. Kamala campaigned on wealth taxes, large tax increases, and bigger, bigger, bigger government. Endless government to adjudicate just about everything.

I never used the "report button" once on this site. The difference between you and me.

For your education, although a non-constitutional activist judge will try and ignore and accuse the President of overreaching his constitutional authority: Article Two of the United States Constitution grants power of foreign policy to the President of the United States, including powers to command the military, negotiate treaties, and appoint ambassadors. The Department of State carries out the president's foreign policy.
-
We're going to find out. Foreign policy is under the executive branch not the judicial. We are seeing judicial overreach at it's finest. I'll be interested to see how nationwide injunctions from district courts hold up. Like you said, it's easy to judge shop when you have 700 to choose from - you're going to find an activist somewhere that ignores the constitution.
-
Take it from Gavin Newsome: "The Democratic party is toxic right now."
-
My gosh, this is ridiculous. Trump is the hardest working President this country has ever seen. Since he took office, how many days has he been off? I can think of 3 days maybe. He pushes his people harder than anyone and he's constant motion. So crucify him already for his day off - if that's the best you have.
-
I'm not ducking this. I have just zero interest in crypto or what your getting at. I do not know what his rights are in this regard. I do know the man has never taken a salary as he donates his to veterans, etc. Seems pretty admirable to me. I do know the man spent hundreds of millions defending himself from corrupt politicians like Alvin Bragg, Fani Willis, Jack Smith, etc. If he wanted to get richer, he sure would not have run and risk going to jail for 300 years. Hard to get rich when your bankrupt and in jail with billions in judgements against you. So forgive me if I am dubious about your conclusion that he's in it for the money.
-
Now that is the smartest thing anyone has said on this thread. Conservatives - not welcome.
