To be clear - you're the Washington insider, so I'll defer to you. If "disgruntled federal workers" wish to engage in traitorous conduct - so be it. After all - the Biden crime family made a career out of selling out their country for money.
-
@LC - are you high again?
-
Zelensky tried to wait Trump out. He hoped Kamala would win. So did Europe. But their worst nightmare was losing the Presidency, Senate & House. Now the tough decisions are forced on them after 3 years (well 2 really) of cheerleading Ukraine on a war they would inevitably lose.
-
It has as much value as your beloved CNN
-
Wait - I thought Trump was an "isolationist" ? Which is it?
-
Actually, that's a wonderful idea. Why hasn't Europe done it?
-
Yeah, they're probably already on the payroll - just like the Biden family.
-
Don't confuse these guys with facts. It never works. They want war, not peace.
-
Let the killing continue @LC

Key line

Absolutely right. It's very good for this to have taken place on public TV. Both Ukraine's leadership and Europe's leadership understand what Zelensky is up against. He did the best he could without the Europeans taking this over. European countries get to decide if they want to continue the meat-grinder and take up the slack left by America - and lose their sons & daughters in Ukraine. Hopefully, they will vote to stop all the useless killing.
-
Biden did nothing to me. No doubt he and his criminal family broke laws, enriched himself and wrecked many, many lives - in addition to getting lots of people killed with Afghanistan and the Sourthern Border. Rest assured - my family is just fine.
-
Sounds like a whiney government worker with sour grapes. The house cleaning will continue - and it will be painful for all - just like it was for so many with Biden in charge. Tough love.

Here is the latest news: Zelenksky begged to stay. No one shook his hand. He was ushered to the door of the White House and asked to leave. You are witnessing high stakes negotiations in progress. Shit, you're trying to settle a war! It's not for the faint of heart. Ball in Ukraine's court.

+1 - Bingo
-
Yes - that is the whole point. He needs the US or he needs Europe to solve this. Now he knows the American position.
-
I certainly don't care what you think DWY - there is a war going on with millions dying - so if you can't take watching a historic negotiation taking place - don't watch. Save your vitriol for the Europeans and Biden continuing this travesty without trying to end it.
-
You missed everything @John Hjorth When you get to an impasse on terms - elapsed time is what is needed. You walk - each party needs to rethink their issues and reassess IF THERE IS A DEAL TO MAKE. Nothing helps you like elapsed time when you are so far apart. So why did this blowup happen right now?? I'll tell you why - because up until now - there was NO RISK for anyone. The point of greatest risk is when an agreement HAS to be signed. When you are at that stage, now all the nicietes are over - because - you are delivering on all the "nice talk". Zelensky is NOT dealing from a position of strength - he blew it - but that's perfectly ok - there is so much at stake - he needs to rethink what terms he is in line to accept.
-
@John Hjorth Your buddy Zelensky now has a long plane ride home to thing about 1) What can I sell the Ukrainian leadership on? 2) Do I want to continue this war? 3) Will Europe bail my ass out? 4) Do I wish to lose the support of the United States? He is NOT in a good position - BUT the ball is absolutely in his court.
-
Not in the least. You are witnessing high stakes negotiations in process. Did you think it was going to be EASY to settle a war between 2 parties that HATE each other? Zelensky is fucked. He either comes around with reasonable terms or Europe can step in. John - get your European leadership to step in now - and they can be heroes. IF they can make a peace deal happen - Europe will be heroes forever. Get them to work.
-
History in the making.
-
I seriously doubt that would ever work. The entrenched resistance in the ranks is much too deep. The same assholes that fought every step of the way in the President's first term. Radical surgery breaks some glass, but works time & again. So we will just beg to differ.

Don't expect a lot of tears to be shed for a vicious and out of control Federal government that got replaced. When you destroy lots of high paying pipeline, oil & Gas, mining and manufacturing jobs - and tell those impacted "learn how to code" - you won't get much sympathy from your citizens. When you send hundred of armed law-enforcement agents to arrest senior citizens at gunpoint with swat teams to rifle through underwear drawers - you're getting what you deserve. Unlease the IRS & NSA & FBI & DOJ on political opponents? Shoe is on the other foot for once. Agencies like USAID funnelling money to censor political opponents and solely fund the favorable press? Close it down. Unfortunately, a body deeply infected with cancer requires chemotherapy that is pleasant for no one. But the Federal government earned it.

Nice article. Thanks @Hektor - since I can't get beyond paywall. Pulling DOGE off will certainly be one of the most difficult tasks of any US President. It's much, much easier to tax & spend, tax & spend - throw money around like it's nothing and leave the disaster for the next administration. I'm not sure when the Federal Government willingly attempted such a task. Everyone knows it has to happen. It's great to see it happen.

Yup, all the man is trying to do is answer one question: "What the hell happened to the money?"
