I use 8-11 depending on the business and durability of the cash flows, but have learned over time not to focus too much on the discount rate. It's getting the cash flows right that matters. If using 9% instead of 10% makes a difference for me investing, then the value is too close. I'll move on.

Agreed. There is a lot of value to this community if value oriented investors. Let’s stick to finding the next great investment :)

Just buy for the fund first. Then your personal account. It's just the right thing to do. Do you really care if your personal account lags the fund a little? I assume your more interested in the fund doing well as that's what your LP's will be looking at.

Maybe they are preparing for a big buy back if WEB or CM are about to step down and the market sells down the stock. Not a nice thought that they may be slowing down. :-\

Are we finally seeing a rotation into value names as people run from the FANGs and growth?

i've been adding to the D's. Not sure what to think. These securities have been left for dead. Call me crazy, but wouldn't they want to buyback the pref's on the cheap? sell one or more of the cash consuming crappy businesses and use the proceeds to buyback cheap debt - don't you create value at the stroke of a pen?
