  1. But this is a different form of discussion. Not political anymore, more of a "How to survive under a fascist regime" guide. Of course "Don't flaunt you're a jew" was sound advice in a specific time and place, but just the fact you have to give this advice tells a special kind of story.
  2. Somehow in this whole discussion one point was seemingly lost: What happened to the Epstein files? Shouldn't they have been released by now?
  3. Personally for me 2-3, at an absolute maximum 4 stocks. I find it difficult to find good companies cheaply
  4. Reminds me of Charlie Mungers funeral joke: "Does no one have anything good to say about the deceased?". Here's an interesting video from Germany, where a farmer is trying to break through a police blockade with his tractor. Somehow they managed not to shoot him.
  5. Thank you! There is no point, this is a Forum and I am asking for the opinions of users in order to understand them better. My opinion is that in all those cases deadly force would have been inmeasurably more appropriate than in the Ms. Good case. Instead, in the former people got pardons, and in the latter the shooter immunity from even investigation. So my opinion is there seems to be a double standard going on
  6. Sure, let's go through a few of them individually: Would it have been appropriate to shoot: David Nicholas Dempsey: stomping on police officers' heads, using flagpoles and other objects to attack officers, and spraying bear spray into the gas mask of an officer Daniel Joseph "DJ" Rodriguez: shot Officer Michael Fanone, who had been dragged into the mob by another assailant and was lying face-down on the ground, twice with a stun gun held to his neck. Attacked other officers with a wooden pole Christopher Joseph Quaglin: choking and tackling officer Michael Fanone to the ground, attacking other officers with metal bike racks, stolen police shields, and pepper spray Thomas Webster: attacking an officer with a flagpole and tackling him Thomas Harlen Smith: among other violent actions, kicking an officer in the back and knocking him to the ground and hitting two officers in the head with the metal pole he threw at them Albaquerque Cosper Head: dragging officer Fanone face-down down the West Terrace steps and attacking police Steven Cappuccio: ripping off officer Hodges's gas mask and striking him across the face with his own baton
  7. But these protestors were surely not the only ones injuring 140 police officers (and vandalizing). My question is if it would have been appropriate to also shoot all the protestors being violent.
  8. Okay, let's agree to disagree on that one. What's with the rest?
  9. Well, this government website says he died from being injured while engaging with protestors: https://www.uscp.gov/media-center/press-releases/loss-uscp-colleague-brian-d-sicknick Another source: https://www.npr.org/sections/insurrection-at-the-capitol/2021/01/07/954333542/police-confirm-death-of-officer-injured-during-attack-on-capitol I am not a lawyer, but I'd say if I stab someone and he dies the next day that's still murder. But for the sake of the argument it doesn't really matter. 140 police officers were injured: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/a-difficult-year-how-officers-who-defended-the-capitol-are-grappling-with-efforts-to-downplay-jan-6-violence So the argument is pretty much the same: The "unorderly" behavior from protestors that day was much more violent than anything Ms. Good did (whats the number of injured officers in that case?), so it must logically follow that police officers should have shot them in order to defend themselves?
  10. Maybe I am missing something, but can you explain what makes Nintend attractive at these prices? To grow into the current valuation they would need to double their net earnings. I say this from the assumption of Disney's P/E, which, although ofc not perfectly comparable because of nintendo's hardware component, is quite comparible in terms of family friendly IPs. Both are similar in that they target children, but then keep those children as customers even when they grow up due to nostalgia and introduce their own children and the circle continues. Even though they are succesful relatively with their Mario movie and Nintendo stores, the vast majority of their income still comes from hard- and software sales. Switch 2 has a lower profit margin than the switch. Don't get me wrong, I think their margins are great and their moat strong, but they seem awfully expensive.
  11. @Gregmal Since you think it's alright that Renee Good was shot, I'm interested in whether you think that all rioters from Jan 6th should have been shot too? They not only defied police orders, but also threatened, harmed and even killed police officers.
