  1. I didn't ask you; you asked me. Are you sure you're OK?
  2. When you and others label people as a cult, or Maga, it is hard to take the discussion seriously. Labels are convenient and lazy. But just for you, one of my biggest gripes with Trump is his pushing Crypto. A lot of people are going to get hurt someday.
  3. Wrong. When you assume......Thanks for so clearly making my point yet again.
  4. See, that's just silly. What you fail to grasp is that many people (myself included) support issues regardless of who peddles them. I've long since argued that usurious interest rates are predatory and that didn't change with the advent of Donald Trump. When you label everyone as being part of a cult you demonstrate a lack of understanding and your own "cultist" attitude. You asked how they can make money at 10%. Well, how do they make money on people like me who pay 0%?
  5. On the surface it sounds fine to me but I haven't read the details.
  6. I support not charging usurious interest rates to people who are either ignorant, desperate or in financial straights. No one can withstand 20%+ interest rates for long and certainly not for consumer debt. Even as a hard money lender, I always suggest that borrowers try all other alternatives before coming to me.
  7. I'm not @Gregmal but how is it that you conclude from his post that he believes the shooting was alright? He wrote that the incident was tragic. Understanding why something happens and believing that it is OK are two distinctly different things. What exactly is your point?
  8. Yup. Good message. On a related note, also applicable for people who now may be considering a switch to indexing. After a series of far above average years for large equity indexes, future results are more likely to be tempered if not downright disappointing, at least in the relatively short term. But long enough for some to revert back to stock-picking (or cash, bonds or whatever) only before the next bull market for indices begins.
  9. If you continue to have the time, interest and skill, why change? If you get run over by a bus tomorrow, your family members can always switch to indexing or find someone else to manage their money. If the worst case scenario is having to pay taxes on large gains, that is a problem many folks would not mind having.
  10. There is a reason we have usury laws.
  11. People focus far too much on character flaws. Who cares? Not as it we can create and elect the perfect leader. US citizens who hate him only have themselves to blame. Their own character flaws helped elect him.
  12. Nah, but that's just it. When people (here and elsewhere) make outrageous, outlandish comments about Trump (or anything, really) and then later are pressed for and with details, inevitably they step in their own sh-t.
  13. Well, without reading further the "absolute power" part rules it out. @Spooky 1 @dwyooo 0. Shall we play on?
  14. Maybe we should have sought the approval of Maduro and his team as well.
  15. So you just disproved your own point that Trump is a dictator. Well done.
  16. Spooky is correct. Did you look up the definition of "cult"?
  17. Same answer I gave to @Spooky. Its been less than a week and already you're making assumptions into the indefinite future. Contrary to what many of you believe, there is some forethought that goes into this. You're welcome to think otherwise - that is why we have elections.
  18. Pretty straight forward to me. @ICUMD just gave you one example.
  19. So we don't do it unless we have answers to all your questions and only to your satisfaction. Interesting way to look at things.
  20. Not trying to pollute this thread any further but specialists in any field get paid and most doctors aren't specialists - i.e., primary physicians, family doctors, urgent care, VA, etc... And as for door men? Personal anecdote: My wife and I make frequent short visits to Boston (so not even NYC in terms of overall expense) and we like to stay at the same Back Bay hotel. She loves the door man there and pays him $200 to pick us up and take us to and from the airport - $200/pop. Mind you the trip is little more than 5 miles each way and she pays - if it were up to me I'd take the T for about $3.75. I asked him once how many of these side trips he does a week. Answer: More than 10. Tax-free, no malpractice insurance required and still draws a nice salary and tips as a door man.
  21. LOL, door men in NYC make more than some doctors I know.
  22. @gfp you must know different doctors than me. All the doctors I know work crazy hours and wish they made as much money as us.
  23. Perfect. Did it occur to anyone that that is precisely the way he wants outsiders to think of him? Falling right in line with the agenda.
  24. Of course - we're all friends here and came here for a common purpose that we all share.
  25. There is a counter-argument to every one of your points. Best left for a bar over drinks. Sufficeth to say, we see things differently.
