  1. Sanjeev, its an easy fix. Just eliminate any political speak unless it has a direct investment relationship to the subject of the discussion. I actually suggested this a while back.
  2. I think it all comes down to what you want to own as an investment, and why. Personally, I'm much more apt to want to invest in a genius than some artificially created scarcity but to each his own.
  3. I largely agree with you - hence the value is all speculation. The issue for me is utility; some see it, I don't.
  4. Pet rocks today are even more scarce.
  5. LOL, they're probably right. The best argument I've heard is the usage argument. Yet the one commodity that demands the most usage all the time - O2 - commands no price.
  6. Speculation aside, I'd like someone to explain quantitatively how to value it and why any number makes sense.
  7. "With all the crap we read in the Politics section"... hmm, you sanctioned the "politics section" and you are one of its most prolific posters. So where do you reckon the "crap" comes from? So if you don't like it, why don't you fix it?
  8. LOL, he borrows from himself.
  9. I have a "mortgage the house, load the boat" price in mind but will keep it to myself as to not encourage any front-runners.
  10. Have to believe there are some very good academics and teachers at all levels even though their voices are largely drowned out or they wisely choose to remain silent to protect their own careers and their prodigies from complete moral bankruptcy.
  11. I'm always lazy when it comes to technical analysis.
  12. Right; can you sum up your thesis?
  13. @gfp Do you actually use charts to make investment decisions? if so, does the chart ever do you wrong?
  14. @cubsfan I used to deadlift years ago but hurt my lower back and also would tear up my shins. Lately when working out I use a hex bar when trying to simulate a deadlift. Not quite the same but easier on the back.
  15. Cubs, sometimes all you can do is shake your head. No rational person likes random acts of violence against innocent human beings. Yet when it comes to ICE, almost all such violence is perpetrated by one group, and it isn't ICE.
  16. Eh, no need to cubby hole or profile anything - your words and those of others speak for themselves. But go ahead and keep pushing narratives that almost always have another side.
  17. Nice response. As is condoning, implicitly or otherwise, hateful attacks on Americans simply trying to do their jobs. Playing amateur shrink seems to be a favorite pastime around here.
  18. Curious, how many ICE agents do you personally know? Easy to stereotype folks from an observation deck.
  19. Regrettably, yes. Just look back at our own Presidential election. The means is clearly flawed but the ends would have been far worse if the other candidate had won.
  20. OK, you don't like Trump's ethics. You're not alone. But ethics can be subjective and are easily confused with ideology and long term objectives.
  21. Another day of "the sky is falling". Yawn.
  22. You like to make it personal - why? In case you're wondering I deal with Canadians both personally and professionally every day of my life. Part of my family is from Winnipeg. Personal enough for you? More often than not, taking a dispassionate view of things adds a lot more clarity than when you let emotions take over.
  23. Hard love often results in hurt feelings. Canada will get over it.
  24. A stronger Canada is also good for the US. It took some prompting but hopefully you'll get there.
  25. Evidently you didn't learn much from Carney's speech last week or take it to heart. A strong US is ultimately the best thing Canada could ever hope for - unless you plan on defending yourselves.
