  1. I don’t want them to sell a penny of Eurobank with the free trade deal now in place with India. Greece will likely be the first port of call for all lot of trade given its shorter shipping route and the massive money being spent by EU to upgrade Greece’s logistics inland. Add in the acquisition of the new bank in India, if they get it, and they would be positioned to capitalize on a massive trade corridor from both ends and insure it.
  2. I think we do know one large potential investment. I think FFH is in the last stages of a bid to take majority ownership of a large Indian bank- IDBI. The winner of the bidding gets announced in March 2026, but it’s supposed to be valued around 7.5+ billion.
  3. Since 2003…haven’t sold a share although the decade of darkness was sure tempting.
  4. Many investors take a quick 1000 foot view and see Fairfax as a solid 12-13% compounding return and only above if some of the bets work out…Eurobank, Digit, etc. They don’t take the time to dig much further and if 12-13 isn’t their number, it went on the move on pile.
  5. I agree…I bought my first shares in 2003 for mid $80’s. Then some more in the low 100’s. I’ve added but haven’t sold and I believe FFH shares have treated me more than fair. Even though the lean years, I learned a lot and could see them building a better underlying insurance business so I was content to hold. I think we faired quite well versus in and out because we now have a solid result and was able to build out the rest of my portfolio without out the distractions.
  6. Fair enough… I hope that junior member keeps up the good work and is given a bit more to play with. Solid work.
  7. I only ask because I was wondering if they were experimenting with more of a quality investing type approach. Using the tracker like you said. I’ve been a shareholder since 2003 and I see how cautious they can be, so in the back of my mind, I am wondering if they are evaluating their ability to play in the quality space and not just pure value. Not sure.
  8. That’s what I find interesting….they bought 66k shares at 1.8 million, sold 42 million shares for 275% gain and still hold 2.5 million worth of shares. Great moves and solid gain for less than 5 years….but such tiny amounts…why are they playing with such low numbers?
  9. Hi, Can I get anyone to confirm Prem may have invested into KKR & Co? If so, any thoughts?
  10. Anyone have any thoughts on what the LA fires will do to Fairfax combined ratio and does anyone have a sense of what it will do to our competition ie Chubb
