Parsad Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Cute article by this young fellow! I'm jealous, as he had a 15 years head start on me, and I'm sure on many of you as well. Good luck to him! Cheers! http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-investor/how-a-15-year-old-became-an-avid-warren-buffett-fan/article14005611/
jay21 Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Good article. I think it's important to start young and early. However: "When I came back from the meeting, I told my friends I was surrounded by rich people and I got to eat Dairy Queen bars for a dollar and lots of candy – Berkshire Hathaway also owns Mars. I also got a set of headsets at a shareholder discount of 40 per cent off. Even my friends who don’t understand why I like investing thought the cheap treats would have been awesome. They’re not calling my interests “messed up” any more." I am pretty sure BRK doesn't own Mars.
Guest longinvestor Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 This is great! Catching 'em young is always good but becoming an early acolyte of Buffett should be very good for one's wealth. Nice work on the part of the parents in this case, great role model for some of us who share in the Berkshire fanfare and need to pass along (at least try) to the young.
