Guest ValueCarl
I am not so sure the headline data points casting doom and gloom are accurate here, especially when comparing analyst estimates to the official results. I will let BYD fans elaborate on where the growth potential that is embedded inside this electric car mfg. with a solar component will come from. If I did the conversion right, they're already pushing above $7.8B in annual sales. How is their dispute with the U.S. Patent office going? I am a damn cheap value curmudgeon patiently awaiting the arrival of their electric car here in the good Ole USA! ;) http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-02-28/byd-s-2011-net-income-falls-44-percent-on-fierce-competition.html Profit declined to 1.4 billion yuan ($222 million) in 2011 from 2.52 billion yuan in 2010, the Shenzhen-based company said in a preliminary earnings statement to the city’s exchange yesterday. That compares with an average estimate of 968 million yuan of 15 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. Sales rose 1.2 percent to 49 billion yuan.
