elltel Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 just wondering, has anyone received a copy of the latest one? Is there one? Anyone know when the next one is due? cheers
gfp Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Haven't received one recently. Never know when they are going to come out. Many are 'double issues' lately. Few and far between.
Guest Feynman Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I may be wrong, and I hope I am, but I believe OID has stopped publishing due to management issues (http://www.gurufocus.com/forum/read.php?1,19985). I have been trying to locate a 1992 issue of OID (and the rest of the backlog) that has an interview with Bruce Berkowitz where he discusses Wells Fargo in the real estate crisis from that period. Does anyone know where to get the back issues? I checked the libraries around my house, others in NYC and the Library of Congress. Nothing. Thoughts?
gfp Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Those posts are from 2007. OID has certainly been publishing since then and sent out an issue in 2010. I have an August 2010 issue and they often go long periods between issues.

You should try calling OID, their website says they offer reprints: http://www.oid.com/public/html/contacts.html
alpha231616967560 Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I just got an email from them on an unrelated matter last week. They're definitely still in business, just slow...
finetrader Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 They're definitely still in business, just slow... I guess it's better to be slow and to come up with good ideas than just to fill pages with mediocre investment thesis
Guest Feynman Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Excellent, I'm glad to hear they are still publishing. I'll contact them for information on the back issues. Thank you for that info.

Investmentacct Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Feynman Plz see if this is what you were looking for: Berkowitz: March 2009 http://www.grahamanddoddsville.net/wordpress/Files/Gurus/Bruce%20Berkowitz/OID%20-%20Bruce%20Berkowitz%20-%203-17-2009.pdf
Guest Feynman Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Actually, that is where I got the idea of tracking down that 1992 edition of OID, so I could see his analysis. Thank for sharing that though! I just called OID and they only give reprints to subscribers(which is fair), of which I am not. I'll try to find another way to get them. Some one has to have them somewhere!
prunes Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Anyone know why the OID website has been down for the past few days?
Liberty Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Anyone know why the OID website has been down for the past few days? No. I've been meaning to ask the same question..
prunes Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Anyone know why the OID website has been down for the past few days? No. I've been meaning to ask the same question.. A while back I had filled out the form on the website requesting a free issue prior to potentially subscribing and never received anything.
Guest Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 You've got to be freakin' kidding me. I subscribed late last year. Wouldn't they notify us if they're out of business...or something? :(
Kuhndan Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I know there have been times when over a year has past between issues.
Guest Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 For those who are interested, the website is back up. :)
