sleepydragon Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Wondering what people’s advice on how much to contribute to 529? I can get state tax deduction up to 10k, but I could contribute up to 30k without triggering gift tax recording. It’s seems a good way to leave money for kids (and grandkids), and nowaday private college is becoming very expensive.
pocoapoco Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Wow you get a state tax deduction?! Nice I’m in California and don’t believe I ever did I would go $30k Front load that thing
Guest cherzeca Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 I only gave $10K/yr, but I started early so I was in no rush. if you are in a rush, do more...also, remember, if you go above annual exclusion, you dont trigger a gift tax, you just use up some your consolidated estate/gift lifetime exclusion
