Any thoughts on Buffett's preferred stock deals that he has done in the past?

It seems like he takes preferred at a high coupon (tax efficient to Berkshire) and also gets warrants.

So the cost can be very high if the stock does well over many years.  But there can be some risk is the business does poorly, for example US Air.
