Sorry, but I figure someone can help me here, I think it was some investment person, maybe Buffett that said the follow (paraphrased):

 

"The more recklessly those around you carry out their business, the more carefully you must carry out yours."

 

Any help appreciated on finding the source.

I don't see any response yet but I don't want you to think everyone is ignoring either.  I have never heard that sentence, paraphrased or not.  I googled it but since it was not a direct quote, I didn't get any good response either.

I've run into it before but I just read it in Donald Keough's book "The Ten Commandments for Business Failure." Very good book by the way for those that haven't read it.
