Understanding Banks

Hey everyone, does anyone have any good primers or recommended books to help a beginner understand how to analyze a bank?

There is a good primer on the web called Analyzing and Investing in Community Bank Stocks by David B. Moore that runs 236 pages.  Do a Google search and you should be able to find a link to a pdf.

Check out the Bank Credit Analysis handbook, pricey but I learned so much and use it as a reference manual. Nate also posted some links that are very useful too.
