ATLValue Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Hey everyone, does anyone have any good primers or recommended books to help a beginner understand how to analyze a bank?
oscarazocar Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 There is a good primer on the web called Analyzing and Investing in Community Bank Stocks by David B. Moore that runs 236 pages. Do a Google search and you should be able to find a link to a pdf.
oddballstocks Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I wrote three posts on this a while back: http://www.oddballstocks.com/2013/02/a-banking-primer.html http://www.oddballstocks.com/2013/08/a-banking-primer-part-2.html http://www.oddballstocks.com/2013/09/banking-primer-part-3-first-northern.html
Valueguy134 Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 http://www.cornerofberkshireandfairfax.ca/forum/general-discussion/industry-primers-10852/?topicseen Check out the Bank Credit Analysis handbook, pricey but I learned so much and use it as a reference manual. Nate also posted some links that are very useful too.
ATLValue Posted December 10, 2015 Author Posted December 10, 2015 Thanks everyone! Great weekend reading material
