ukvalueinvestment
Gio, I'm thinking of buying Terra catalyst Fund (see VIC). Main asset is Italian Commercial Real Estate. What do you think? Right time in the cycle to buy?
LongTerm
Gio, I'm thinking of buying Terra catalyst Fund (see VIC). Main asset is Italian Commercial Real Estate. What do you think? Right time in the cycle to buy? Italian real estate is overpriced relative to real estate in other European countries due to structural issues (like insurance companies allocating a large % of investment assets to this category). That doesn't mean the price of real estate won't go higher from here, but given the sorry state of the Italian economy at the moment I don't see a rebound to pre-crisis levels any time soon. Just my opinion, however.

Somehow, though, prices have not yet come down as I would have expected… Maybe LongTerm explanation is right on spot! ;) Cheers, Gio
jouni1
some companies i follow seem to be doing a bit better in greece and italy, and posting year on year growth again. up here it seems to be getting worse. construction is pretty much halted. prices are insane, at least in our big towns. bearprowler6
Stansberry & Associates May 2014 report talks all about Fairfax's foray into Greece. See attached report. Cheers! For those interested---an interesting and reasonably cost effective way of gaining direct access to the "recovery" taking place in Greece is available via "The Global X Greece ETF "that trades under on the NYSE under the symbol "GREK" offers . A link to the ETF website is provided below: http://www.globalxfunds.com/GREK The ETF holds 22 positions including Piraeous Bank, Alpha Credit Bank, Mytilineous Holdings and Eurobank Properties REIT -- all of which were mentioned in the Stansberry Report.
