Hi longinvestor,
i liked his evolutionary explanations of a lot of things and also found some Buffett and Munger and other value investor quotes I didn't know.
You will read a lot of things you already know, but a lot of ideas are thought in others directions or have good explanations.
It's a good book. I think you have to read the whole book. ;)

Finally I got the updated version from Amazon.
I have nearly finished the book and highly recommend it. :)
Baid explains a lot of things very good.
He sounds like a good focused investor.

Buffett mentioned that the reinsurance business, the railroad business, the energy business and the Apple position are the four
biggest businesses and I think all are earning pretty good money. :)
-
Also amazing is that Apple is at 1.663T market cap and Berkshire at 443.17B market cap.
There could be a share price run up pretty soon, because of the acquisition, buyback activity, Witmer insider purchases, good earnings (the mayor investments should be earning good money) and 5% of Apple. I bought more on Friday after I read about the buyback activity.
Cheers!

Bought some Berkshire b shares. Value up through acquisition, price still cheap. :)

I agree and bought more B shares. ;)

Good warm-up for the Annual Meeting:

I bought more Berkshire b shares over the week.
No Berkshire Hathaway run-up in the shares this year before the annual meeting.
It will be interesting to see what Buffett bought and how the big businesses are doing.
However Berkshire shares are cheap and safe. :)

What is the best way to profit from this oil price?

It's much more simple to own just Berkshire and enjoy life.
There's a diminishing marginal utility to earning money if you have already enough money
and especially if you don't enjoy the work or the work is unhealthy.
I liked his focus. One of the best Buffett-Imitators.
Anyone know his long-term track record?

Barrons has stolen the question from this thread:

Added more Berkshire b shares....
I hope Buffett find some great bargains with the cash hoard. :)

Bought some more Berkshire B shares. :)
Today morning it looked like some panic selling. Help them when they want desperately to sell. ;)

"really horrible write-up on Berkshire in Barrons this weekend as a cover story. Basically calling for a breakup and a dividend...one of the worst piece I've seen on Buffett and Berkshire for sometime."
+1
He should have read Buffetts´ comments on the topics....
That doesn't stop him to congratulate himself: "We like to think that Barron’s provides the best coverage of Berkshire anywhere." ;)

I bought some Berkshire b shares over the week.
Results should be very good and the Apple shares did perform quite well. P/B is 1,41.

Merry Christmas everyone and a Happy New Year! :)

"Some of us around here should be experiencing the said joys ourselves with an unnamed stock ownership ;) We are the book, no?"
OK, just buy the unnamed stock, experience the joy and forget the book. :)
-
Thank you for the information. :)
-
It sounds like an interesting book, but it is out of order at Amazon.
Anybody who has read it and does know where I can buy it?
-
Bought some Berkshire b shares today.
The results on Saturday should be good, the big equity positions are up nicely and Berkshire´s share price is underperforming.
A good combination. :)
Buffett´s exercise to stay healthy
in Berkshire Hathaway
Posted
I read in a recent Buffett interview that Buffett is running 25 minutes per day as a sport exercise.
This looks pretty smart, because it´s good for your heart, lung (Corona), for your mind and for losing calories etc....
I´m actually thinking about doing the same. ;)
Any thoughts?
