  1. Denamrk has a huge housing bubble. No one really has focused on this besides Luxor capital. We lay out a short thesis here-http://www.valuewalk.com/2012/01/why-denmark-is-not-aaa/#.TxmV1W-CkhU. Their biggest bank, Den Danske has 2x the assets of Denmark. It would be like JPM, C, BAC or whoever having $30T of assets. Banking assets to GDP is 90% in America vs 450% in Denmark.
  2. I guess not. I LOVE this forum but Im not too active here. Your right the longs were just ok, but Id take 200% over my -3% return for 11 any day.
  3. Thank you! I fixed it, its also here-http://www.valuewalk.com/2012/01/seth-klarman-purchases-new-stake-in-samchully-co-ltd/ If any1 knows why he bought this besides it being dirt cheap please feel free to hypothesize.

  5. Some of the best value investors have made their money off shorting frauds; Einhorn, Ackman, many others. Does that make it any less impressive?
  6. This is a presentation by Joseph Calandro, Jr., author of Applied value investing. Although Joe denies it, he is close friends with Klarman, and Klarman supports his work. Joe has stayed in the corporate world to try to spread value investing there. I am trying to publicize (no commission, except free lunch regardless!) his recent presentation of Buffett's acquisition of GEICO at NYSSA. It was also pretty interesting. You could tell by how many times he quoted Seth not from MOS or any event, that the two are close-http://www.valuewalk.com/2012/01/graham-dodd-and-modern-financial-analysis-by-joseph-calandro-jr/#.Txg4Sm-CkhU
  7. Value investing still worked for some in 2011 http://www.valuewalk.com/2012/01/kerrisdale-capital-up-200-in-2011/#.Txgy42-CkhU
  8. looks like no one linked to it yet, here it is http://www.valuewalk.com/2012/01/breaking-david-einhorns-greenlight-returns-9-7-in-2011/#.TxcxRm-CkhU

  11. I do an update every month on eight valuation metrics. I have been doing one for two years and it has evolved. I discuss Shiller pe in depth. Please let me know your thoughts http://www.valuewalk.com/category/stock-market-valuations/http://www.valuewalk.com/2011/01/stock-market-valuation-january-2012/#.TwtScm-CkhV Steven Romnick looks at market valuations. 12. My bad, someone who helped write it (Booth MBA!) made the millions/billions mistakes. I amended them as some1 already pointed them out. Thank you though. Ill check on VSAT as well know.
  13. Dont mean to self promote but thought u guys would like this http://www.valuewalk.com/2011/12/exclusive-seth-klarmans-secret-holdings/
  14. I thought you guys might be interested in this. Joe is supposedly close with Seth Klarman, even more than the article indicates. I am going to hear him speak at NYSSA on Dec 8th (if anyone wants to meet up let me know), he is going to be talking about GEICO's purchase by Berkshire. Joe also wrote Applied Value Investing, I have not read it, but heard great things about it. I will be posting more on Joe but in the meantime, here is our interview-http://www.valuewalk.com/2011/11/interview-famous-author-joseph-calandro-jr/#.TtWpOWMr2so
