That shot on 16 was vintage woods however so was his first comments after winning and tying Nicklaus. No mention of his name and the little dig that he was 36 upon reaching 72 wins. If he does get back to the same level of golf I believe so will all the As you say douche part, well really I don,t think it ever was gone.

Resolute Forest Products Commences Takeover bid of Fibrek

This smells so bad it is laughable. Signed on the day offer expires. -
I was looking at Encana's hedging on gas price, they have about 2/3 hedged at about $6 in 2012 and then the hedges drop off dramatically. Somebody did a good job here, but 2013 results could be alot worse. The $17 crashed price still looks too risky . With rigs being pulled off gas every week and will not return until a better price is available I think this glut will be addressed sooner than later. I am wiling to bet we will not see a repeat of this winter. Yes could go lower but Ecana is hedged as you say. I do not think we will see 2.00 gas in 2013 and no not a dollar either. I am buying Encana as it falls and will take the dividend to wait. I hope to be part of a cheering thread like we had for BAC

How can fairfax possibly want this to go to the supreme court. Can,t see how that do not come out of this looking real good. The money continues to be spent. Is there some rainbow of riches here everyone is missing. Makes no sense. Where is the payoff -

Who would have thought our little company would generate such shennaigans. Secret meetings, insider dealings, court involvement. You would think we were some multi national conglomerate. There must be quite the story behind all this and perhaps we will be privy to all someday. The cost for all this must be adding up. perhaps worth a lot more than 1.30 -
This makes so sense . Although there is so much to the negative re gas major power users can make a big dent into storage supplies and we have less production. Our winters won,t all be like the one we just had. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-investor/investment-ideas/features/market-lab/warm-winter-hides-rising-appetite-for-natural-gas/article2387859/

try this my apologies following article paints about as gloomy a picture for gas that there can be - i am and will continue to build a postiion - i might be early to the play but never good at picking bottom - buying ECA and taking dividends while i wait http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/03/28/usa-natgas-storage-idUSL2E8ESYVQ20120328

can/t believe this crap - on the surface it looks like fairfax resolute are trying to get something for less than its worth and there is the aura of some insider advantage - for sure there is more to the story but that is not sees in the press - do they really want this to go to the supreme court - how much are we talking here/ enough to sully one;s hard earned reputation - come on match the bid you will come out okay - the circulars i get in the mail re this offer are a foot deep -
Bought more common and 2014 5's today. I got lucky in that I sold out my position in december for tax purposes and bought the warrants at 2 and have added more warrants, common and options since then. Now comes the tricky part. The back of my truck is getting full. The tricky part now is to ride all the way ??? . This and the recent move in MFC have done wonders to the account. If SD joins the fray it will be the perfect t storm. Must remember the dark days of sep and oct? Where is Greece by the way?

Back up the truck was several months ago, when a handful of us were backing up the truck. Now it's stay the course on BAC and WFC, and look for other ideas for capital. Cheers! You could do worse than putting money into BAC or WFC at current prices. Actually, it sort of depends on the rate of return you're expecting from investing and how concentrated you already are in those names. I likely will not be adding to those particular names. I was still buying options in and around 8. I think this will sprint to TBV now. I bet its past $9 tomorrow, and $10 by weeks end. But then, My powers of prediction aren't as good since I lost my tin foil hat. I had been buying options in and around 8 when BAC was on its way down. So I have a pretty large position. You know, if any of my other positions were to work out and I were to find myself with a wad of cash, I could very well be putting money into BAC at prices above $8. Hell, even at $10, BAC is cheap, IMO. well I didn't back the truck up but I did lower the tail gate and added more - will average up over time and lessen SD as I do
-
ok I have a fairly large position in BAC now but is this one of those back the truck up and load up for a big windfall. SD was my horse but I am thinkng of placing a bet on two.

As a large holder of SD, seeing Tom Ward mentioned in the letter was certainly nice to see. -
How Many Board Members Have Been Investing in Nat Gas Companies?
gordoffh replied to txlaw's topic in General Discussion
[shadow=red, left]I have been looking at Encana. Wont buy until the hedges start to come off, and the dividend is getting squeezed. ECA is around $19 right now. I am thinking closer to $10. It is the second largest NA gas producer to XOM[/shadow] hope you are way off base here - price has already fallen substantially reflecting current situation -I guess one can tell i have a postion here - started accumulating 3 - 4 weeks ago [shadow=red, left]To all board members. It wasn't so long ago that Oil was close to 10 a barrel, and then along came peak oil etc. Nat gas could easily move into the sub 2 range for a long time. From my perspective as the US gains energy independence, and IT technology is integrated into transport, transmission, and alt energy sources the price of oil could very well come way down as well. [/shadow] the US influence on oil prices isn't what it used to be - the rest of the world is taking up the slack and in technological advances and US energy independence my have some effect but i don't see some long lasting price breakdown in the immediate future - peak oil is here for awhile -
Top pick on BNN. Like the target price Bank of America (BAC NYSE) Bought August 2011 at $6.76. Bank of America still has lots of tough slogging ahead. Recent legal settlements will likely send the company back into the red and demands of regulators are always uncertain. Fortunately the bank had already reserved $11.8 billion for the recent mortgage settlement. However, the company has made major steps in its turnaround and recently five of the six divisions have been profitable. Insiders have been buying. Target price: $38.74

heading to sydney in oct - just received email from another couple who booked condo in manly ( across the harbour) and they were commenting at the high cost - i was there in march and can't say that i noticed costs being outrageous but then my perception might have been clouded trying to keep up to the aussies downing beer

Gentlemen I have to sift through a load of crap on the Yahoo board for SD in order to garner snippets of valuable info - This board is like a haven of sanity - Don't ruin my Sunday please

FBK closed at 1.12 - keep the bids coming -
down 3 % - sold half of SD in April bought back in gradually and the late surge was a nice christmas present - down primarily because of MFC and other financials - have bought MFC all year now averaged in at 13 in for the long haul collecting dividends - can't say that overly satisified since I was up 20 % in April however down 3 % much better than 6 weeks ago - FFH was a nice counter to falling markets and I sold ove rtime to buy what I hope were decent purchases of cheaper stocks -

Quote from: alertmeipp on October 29, 2011, 06:10:58 PM Quote from: gordoffh on October 29, 2011, 03:00:53 PM dead even as of friday - hit pretty hard during crisis - largest postions in SD, MFC, PD, TDG and RY - Nov 3rd might be able to say up double digits - go SD LOL - IF SD backs to 13 bucks. I will break even and then some. "IF"?? You mean WHEN SD goes back to 13 bucks. When it does I'll be posting saying that I doubled or tripled my money lol ]SD at 13 would be a home run. I was lucky to unload about a 3rd of my postion around 12 in March and starting buying back before last earnings. well that didn't work out. still believed in the story and continued to buy during recent downturn. Thanks to FFH and leverage. now if it does go to 13 what does one do? i see this going much higher but always this maco business to contend with - very tempting to let it ride even though taking some of the table would be wise? anyway i know others here have large positions in SD and are probably facing the same potential question. well lets get to 13 first
