  1. earnings call transcripts are free and pretty high quality now on perplexity finance and even google finance with live transcription. AI is good enough to pickup nuanced finance terms.
  2. Now that its available to trade on IB, if there is any interested, I'm starting to build out korean financials for the entire KOSPI index. Looks like this. Still buggy but should see improvements every single week.
  3. Would have been worth $4bn in theory...
  4. Thanks. I have added in additional data since. Beneficial ownership filings globally (you'll see Berkshire's Japan holdings and Value Act's Japan holdings) Gradually adding mutual fund data one by one of famous funds. Gradually adding full financials. US was relatively easy to add. Working on Japan and Korea and eventually more Europe/Canada.
  5. free quickfs alternative. https://alphafiling.com/ completely free unless you want to create custom watchlsits. it won't run into any of the quickfs issues since I am getting hte data directly from Edgar and parsing filings for additional details. Expect this to get a lot better over the next few weeks. i plan on keeping it free but you may see some ads in about a year or so. still experimenting and building it.
  6. https://alphafiling.com/ I even scraped Japanese exchange data to see Buffett's foreign holdings and has decent coverage of Canada. Its free. Only charge is if you want to build long custom watchlists / alerts. Sequoia Fund (Ruane Cunniff) changes to positions organized by sector
  7. Once you add the cash, what looks like a very concentrated portfolio all of a sudden looks like a very diversified portfolio
  8. I've been a long-time lurker on this forum and learnt a lot, especially early on in my career. Anyways, I've always wanted a "searchable" Buffett and Munger corpus. I've had a lot of notes, random interviews, etc. saved in different folders but with all the rage around Vibe Coding I decided to try something myself and a few weeks later, BuffettMungerGPT.com was born! Hope everyone enjoys playing around with it. I enjoyed asking it question, finding old articles I forgot about, and trying to get it to answer me some questions on how to navigate AI. Its free, no subscriptions, etc. Running the DeepResearch costs me real money so I will likely put some ads up to cover that cost. Hope you check it out and enjoy it. Also, feel free to point out mistakes or suggest improvements. I plan on iterating it and adding new content/articles/videos/podcasts over time. Some interesting charts. Visualizer

    mReits

for those in Canada, MTG (Timbercreek Senior). They have been buying back shares to narrow the price / NAV discount to their detriment and to shareholder's benefit, i.e. this will lower their fees. Management passes along all loan fees to unitholders (i.e. they have no incentive to churn) and they publicly said that they will be buying shares personally in the last conference call. Unlike the US, in Canada, there is a huge dearth of capital between traditional bank debt and traditional equity, which is where mortgage REITs come into play. Average duration is less than 2 years and exposure to Alberta is minimal. All loans are variable rate. I don't foresee rising rates to be a problem here. They are trading at a 0.78x NAV and I think they are unfairly being lumped in with US mREITs, many of whom may have poorer management incentives.
  10. Asian jewelry retailers.
  11. for anybody that is interested. http://www.fairfaxindia.ca/news/press-releases/press-release-details/2015/Fairfax-India-to-Acquire-45-of-ADI-Finechem-Limited-and-to-Make-an-Open-Offer-for-an-Additional-26-of-ADI-Finechem-Limited/default.aspx
  12. packer, besides liquidity, do you see any disadvantage from holding the savings shares? assuming you don't care about liquidity, it almost seems like the savings shares should trade at a premium given the buzzi family are majority owners anyways. I think buzzi savings shares look cheap but there has always been a discount to the regular common shares.
