Sure, just like the open Southern Border nonsense- and how wonderful it is to have uncontrolled, unlimited illegal immigration into our country. No problems with that, according to Obama and Biden. Just ask the 300,000 missing children that the Trump administration is still searching for.... We know how you progressives think: those kids are just collateral damage for your noble goal of opening up the United States to the world. That worked out well for those poor kids in sex trafficking and illegal labor.

Except you seem to have forgotten about the rapid deregulation that characterizes this administration- unshackling business for the tremendous amout of interference in business. The EPA, Energy department, etc. Stripping these ridiculous mandates away - all the climate nonsense that added useless cost to business. Why would you leave that out? The Trump administration is the most pro-business and pro-capitalism federal government the US has seen in decades. The tariff issue is a way to re-orient global commerce and spur growth here in America, and influence foreign policy. Of course - the globalists hate it.
-
Hey you guys forgot - the economy is sure to collapse as well! LOL

That's a really good 2 minute clip worth listening to... Another hilarious, clueless, know-it-all academic with the same old "The walls are closing in on Trump" , "This is it, another bombshell", "The end of Trump" The "expert" class shows once again, as Taleb would say "Intellectual, yet idiot"
-
In other news, the idiot politicians in Texas just had their direct deposit government checks cancelled until they return to work. Along with $500/day fines. Along with 30% of their operating budgets being cancelled. Would have been nice to have a job where I refused to show up for work and still collect a paycheck. Only in government is such lunacy tolerated - but not in Texas government today!
-
Of course, Bessent is estimating as much as $400B is possible.
-
Any idiot can see that Trump also is using tariffs as a foriegn policy weapon. Couldn't be more clear except those that don't want to see it.
-
Furthermore, with inflation basically under control - and all the "experts" looking wrong on the "tariffs will cause inflation and wreck the economy" - tariffs are looking pretty good with the surpluses. A wonderful way to help reduce the deficit. And now with manufacturing moving back to the USA - the tariff strategy looks brilliant. Want your products to be competitive? Well, just manufacture in the USA.
-
I think that's an excellent post and you're getting to the crux of the matter. With all these countries using tariffs and non-tarriff barriers to make it unattractive for US exporters - we're going to find out when some of these governments/producers start subsidizing the tariffs to stay in the US market.
-
And of course, there is never any explanation of why it's perfectly fine for other countries to use tariffs as a policy - but in no way should the United States.
-
Ouch - that hurts! You mean you actually have to be productive and accountable?? What happened to just putting in your time like a good government leech?

Jonathan Turley@JonathanTurleyAug 4 Half of the lawyers in Washington just went under retainer...and it seems like the other half are retaining them.
-
They are going to need plenty of lawyers in DC - I'm hearing there is a shortage due to all the swamp creatures lawyering up!
-
^^ That's all it's about - policy. It just happened to take an exceptional, yet flawed candidate to get the country off a very dangerous course.
-
Agree, that's kinda his style, so get used to it. And to have 3 Ivy League professors proclaim his decline is par for the course. All the private (and some public) universities are shitting bricks now that Trump has come down on them and exposed them. No way you survive in academia unless you toe the line - and proclaim Trump dangerous and unhinged.
-
I definitely read it, and still don't care really. Like I said, who gives a shit when so many politicians say outrageous things. You're just sore that Trump keeps winning with Americans and all the predictions of a world-wide meltdown has not happened under Trump's watch. Might give impeachment or assassination another shot - rather than crying over losing.
-
Have you read some of the comments from lunatics like Hakeen Jeffries, Adam Schiff, Justin Trudeau, Emmanuel Macron, etc... Like who the fuck cares.
-
Wait, don't forget about Epstein and the Threat to Democracy!
-
Of course not! Joe's mental decline was far too obvious. Not much difference between this rag and the Washington Post. They continually display their anti-Trump as well as anti-semitic bias like clockwork.
-
Of course Trump is a "nuisance" for the Europeans. He totally exposed them as the NATO freeloaders they are - although they have been humiliated, they now are moving to a serious and unified NATO. And between JD Vance and Trump exposing the cultural destruction of Europe via uncontrolled immigration, the citizens of Europe are starting to see how they have been led astray by their bozo leaders. They are starting to understand they may be able to save their countries if they will actually make tough decisions. Europe will always despise Trump since their leaders have failed much of the continent.

As the Democrats continue to watch their party melt away, they can thank Trump for making them look so foolish. Trump understands those 80/20 issues so well, and the Democrats are force to confront their awful choices, which prevents them from getting on the side of the public - lest they piss off the loon wing of the party. Borders, men in women's sports, inflation, school insanity, etc - all being reversed by Trump while the public cheers the results - meanwhile dems double down on foolishness. The gift that keeps on giving.

Deliberately surpressing the 800,000 job revision, when she was aware of it 2 months before the election - and they "adjusting" the numbers downward 2 weeks after the election is a stunning display of dishonesty. Oh well - she gets to join the crowd of Biden's bozos.
-
Gotta love it - defend the indefensible. Same as Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Myorkas, Buttigieg, Milley, Blinken, Garland and the rest of Biden's Bozos. Nothing like a good housecleaning: "A lengthy history of inaccuracies and incompetence by Erika McEntarfer, the former Biden-appointed Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, has completely eroded public trust in the government agency charged with disseminating key data used by policymakers and businesses to make consequential decisions." Under McEntarfer, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) consistently published overly optimistic jobs numbers — only for those numbers to be quietly revised later.
-
Like @Gregmal said - BLS stunningly bad at it's job. (Or dishonest) Read statement on firing - with umpteen specific examples. Particularly egregious-- the 800,000 downward revision 1 week after the election, whereby they knew in August 2024 - their numbers were wrong. I can only assume she was dishonest and deserved to be fired. A preliminary annual revision to the jobs data, made in August, suggested job growth in the 12 months through March will be marked down by more than 800,000 — the largest downward revision since 2009 — making waves in financial markets and on Capitol Hill. The final data is due early next year.” https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/08/bls-has-lengthy-history-of-inaccuracies-incompetence/#:~:text=A preliminary annual revision to the jobs, final data is due early next year.”

Fired for incompetence or lack of honesty is pretty clear. Why keep someone around who revised the employment numbers downward 900,000 jobs right after the election. I'd say highly dishonest and untrustworthy.
