Even if true, why would you post such a comment?

So asking Judges to release grand jury transcripts from Epstein's sex trafficking charges doesn't count toward transparency? I see, you only want what you want, when you want it and in the form you want it. Nice.
-
Sanjeev, did you read the full back and forth? We don't even know what is there. "The files" refers largely to investigative files from what I have read, not anything Epstein created or had in his possession. Any assumptions that Epstein kept a list or recordings for purposes of dirt on others is just that - pure speculation. So you have to weigh the benefit of releasing whatever happens to be there with the risk that what you have is not authentic, real, accurate, or properly identifiable. You had it right the first time - get testimony from G. Maxwell and her victims outside of the public eye and if people need to be prosecuted based on sworn testimony, have at it. Use any recordings or documentation that can be properly verified but don't dump it on the public and assume anyone will read and accept it the same way you or I would - they won't.

On an investment board where one would think risk/reward and cost/benefit are readily understandable concepts, there are those who haven't a clue.
-
We agree on something - he was the lowest of lowlifes. But releasing hordes of documents, files, videos, etc.. into the public realm without the least bit of further consideration was never going to happen. Everyone with an ax to grind will use it there for their own, illicit purposes. There is entirely no benefit whatsoever. This doesn't mean that the truth should not be investigated and come out. But there is a right way to do it and a lot of wrong ways. Releasing items maintained by a pedophile just to satisfy folks like you with morbid curiosity or even worse motives is foolhardy.
-
What part of live witness - and participant - testimony do you have a problem with? Anything in writing without identification, authenticity, time, place, author etc... can be widely misinterpreted and taken entirely out of context.
-
Ugh, files are not live "anything". And only someone with severe TDS would come out and say that the only reason Trump won't release something is that it implicates him. You've succeeded in proving my point - thanks. Beating a dead horse won't revive it.
-
Huh? Biden didn't know what day it was. They didn't "pivot" because they wanted to. You know damn well that if he had performed even adequately in the debate with Trump he would have been the candidate. Yet I suppose non-democrats were the only folks who noticed Biden's decline. His shortcomings would have been funny if not so embarrassingly sad. And to make matters worse, they then selected a candidate who was even more mentally deficient than Biden. That warrants no credit. In the mean time he left us in a bad place at the end of his term. I voted to right those wrongs, not for a candidate or his personal issues. For every John Fetterman there are 100 empty seats and a number of democratic Congress Men and Women whose ideals are downright mortifying.

Like when they are up for re-election? Glad to be politically unaffiliated.
-
Again, we have live witnesses. The incarcerated ring-leader and her victims. These people are the best sources of information. But it is far too convenient to blame Trump for every malfeasance. When is any other politician blamed for not following through on campaign rhetoric? When has any other politician ever come close to fulfilling the number of promises that he made? But no, there is no double standard here, LOL.

Perhaps the best reason not to release anything is that nothing good will come of it.
-
You are here clammering for the release of unknown "files". What you won't admit is even if they release "files" you will not be satisfied. You will claim that they withheld, redacted, altered or ignored what should have been released but was not. There is nothing that will change a mindset that so clearly has obvious motives beyond the "release of files". And furthermore, whatever happens to be released will be subject to a permanent stream of rumors, innuendo, hype, speculation and hyperbole by your types and the media so that nothing will ever be enough.
-
Why would I not? Because what you call evidence may be anything but. Did it occur to you that there may be reasons wholly unrelated to your conspiracy theories why whatever they may have has not been made public?
-
There is a concept called "best evidence". It is primarily associated with formal legal proceedings but clearly applicable here. Releasing what a deranged group wants just because they want it is senseless.
-
Files? What files? You have no idea what written documentation exists, if any. Maybe we should release videos if they exist of all encounters for your entertainment. Newsflash: Written materials without knowing who wrote the material, when the material was written, the context of the material, or the authenticity of the material is worth about as much as the TDS many of you share on this board. On the contrary sworn testimony by the other "participants" in any encounters, verified by a living and breathing human being (G. Maxwell) carries some weight.
-
That's crap. Much of everything can be verified by counterparties (unless you think these people had sex with themselves). And where were the two-faced Leftists demanding any of this during Biden's term? Just more of the same.
-
No! Epstein was a scumbag. He managed to befriend a lot of well known people, including Leslie Wexner (Limited), Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and yes, Trump. I seriously doubt (and don't care) that there may be a list of his so-called compatriots. In any event, it appears that some effort is being made to have the only person alive who may have extensive knowledge - Ghiseline Maxwell - come forward and share what she knows. Anyone think she would be willing to do so without a get-out-of-jail-free card? Personally, I'd rather see her rot in jail.
-
@Castanza Well said. There is another alternative of course, that is revise immigration laws to create extended stays for work purposes conditioned upon proper identification within our borders, along with pathways to citizenship for those who demonstrate a true desire to be here and behave in accordance with our laws, morals and values. Until now this has been politically impossible because it was simply not a priority for anyone. But those on the Left couldn't leave well enough alone; instead they used political passivity to create open borders, sanctuary cities, defunding of police, and attacks on law enforcement, among many counterproductive and harmful positions that continue to cost them votes and credibility. Their own stupid stunts have now made the issue a priority. Hopefully something positive gets done.

That is but one of many reasons why Trump was elected US President. Doesn't change the meaning of "illegal" but should be a harbinger of things to come as to the concept of "enforcement". There should be a simple standard for anyone wishing to enter our (or any) country: a willingness to honor that country's laws and practices. Leftists have made a mockery of this standard and waning support is precisely what they deserve.
-
What is it about Epstein that you and others find so fascinating? Personally I'd be far more interested to learn more about the others.
-
Yes; that is why they are called "illegals".
-
It is preventable if we simply follow laws that already exist. The fact that we exploit violation of these laws only makes it worse.
-
Of course not but one is entirely preventable with sensible application of existing laws.
-
Nor should it be. But we need a process that is consistently applied. I'm sure you have friends or know people from other countries who spent a lot of time and money gaining legal entry and citizenship into the United States. Why should it be easier for those who choose to break the law?
-
Actually, no. All industries are local and rely on what they can get. But who gets to decide which laws we enforce and which laws we don't? We should not need to be struggling with this issue but for sorry politicians who have failed us. We now have one willing to tackle the problem head on. Who knows whether he will succeed but doing nothing is IMO not an option.
