LOL, the very definition of a hissy fit. Like cutting off your own nose to spite your face. Canada can threaten up, down and sideways but in the end they'll know who their friends are.
-
I dunno, looks like your name is in the "top posters" list on this thread. But yeah, as a semi-retiree I like to monitor this board while at the office doing other things. Not sure what that has to do with constant and endless complaints by you and others about the very same thing, day in and day out. Doesn't it get tiring?
-
Right. There are those who choose to complain endlessly about the same thing every day; the rest of us don't.
-
Really? Which one of us rants all day - every day about Trump?
-
Yeah, but maybe Trump will get his face on a Bitcoin.
-
Its just math. 80/20 issues. The 20 control the daily narrative and the 80 control the outcome. The Left hasn't figured it out yet.
-
The center is the silent majority and it can't be destroyed. What you don't seem to understand is that most of us have the morals and values we were born with. Its the vulnerable few at both extremes that control the narrative but not the outcome.
-
Do you even begin to understand how and why Trump was elected? It wasn't people like me. It was the Left and their horrible policies who elected Trump. The same people who call him a Nazi, orange hair and other childish names. The same people who pursued one exercise in legal futility after another seeking to destroy him. A news media that played right along. All you people who believe Americans are stupid and can't think for themselves. They made a martyr out of him and are still doing it. "Masked mobs"? Exactly, to protect themselves from unhinged and deranged people who have been brainwashed.
-
Simple, measured responses to unhinged posts and posters?
-
Sanjeev, it only eats away at a few of you here. How many COBF members are there, and how many have to constantly rant about Trump, each and every day, nonstop? Looks like only a few of you need nausea medicine while most of us get on with our lives.

The real issue began well before Biden while for decades Congress continually dropped the ball on immigration reform. The issue became more political when the left recognized they could buy votes and good-will with illegals. There was no political will on either side to change things and to your point, Biden took full advantage by creating a magnet for sanctuary cities - again solely to buy political support and naturally it didn't work. The very notion of a "sanctuary city" to house illegals makes no sense to anyone who values quality of life. But no one suggested fixing the problem would be easy and painless. Meanwhile, Congress is dragging its feet yet again so once Trump leaves office the problem may resurface yet again. Its just so easy to blame Trump.
-
Only in your mind, IMO. The issues of the day existed long before Trump. They'll continue on long after he is gone. The policies you don't like were largely voted on by the American public. If you want to blame American voters, feel free to do so. But recognize our political system and the powers - and limitations place on a sitting President. From my vantage point you are unable to do so.
-
Kind of hard to have a discussion with you or anyone when it is always about Trump, all the time. That seems to be your common denominator, not mine.
-
Thanks. As far as I know, all States have juvenile courts to handle matters involving minors. The first and most important priority of all juvenile courts is protection of the children.
-
Can I ask you where this happened? Most 7th graders are 12 or 13 years old. Have never before heard of a smoking (cigarette) citation issued by the police anywhere but an inside location where smoking is illegal for anyone, and certainly not one that would require going before a Judge who has authority to incarcerate a minor. Children (nor anyone else) don't get locked up for simple infractions and coming home late is not a crime so there is likely much more to the story that your friend hasn't shared.
-
@fleshDo you believe that is a true and accurate account from your friend? Don't know any jurisdiction in the US where 7th graders are locked up in cells with hardened criminals for coming home late. If the story is in fact accurate there are lots of issues there.
-
Yeah you know. Have the last word.
-
That's a good argument for a couple centuries ago. Most of us have evolved since then.
-
You're missing the point - completely. Maybe intentionally. But if I were ICE, I'd be scared shitless and angry as hell. Its not an excuse but a plausible explanation.
-
Your definition of protest is far from mine. And as I said earlier, MLK's.
-
Its not about Trump or elections. If you want to make it a larger issue, why do people feel emboldened to impede ICE and law enforcement? Do you believe this tragedy would have happened if people were not encouraged, even paid to engage in such activity? Could it have something to do with the fact that "protestors" were permitted to invade college campuses and disrupt life for many while authorities simply stood by, watched and supported them?
-
Regardless of your motive, would you walk into a crowd of people intentionally trying to impede ICE from doing their jobs, while carrying a loaded weapon? Its a matter of personal responsibility. Not blame.
-
Last I checked, the 2nd Amendment applied to everyone. But yeah, personal responsibility is hard for some, the same people who like to blame others.
-
The blame game only plays into people's predisposed narratives. He decided to be in the wrong place at the wrong time carrying the wrong piece of personal property. Sadly, just one week ago we celebrated MLK Day in the US but folks in Minnesota never got the message of peaceful protest.

Trained to defend? Not that kind of lawyer. I'd need Google Maps just to find my way to the nearest courthouse.
