I have no position in this company and have not looked at financials closely but its an interesting article on how secretive Tootsie Roll is while most companies on the other hand want coverage from wall street.  I wonder if good management like at Sees could take over this company to boost profitability and return on capital substantially. 

 

Tootsie Roll shuns journalists, refuses to hold quarterly earnings calls, and issues crookedly-scanned PDFs for its earnings releases. The last securities industry analyst to maintain coverage of the company stopped last year because it was too hard to get information.

Thanks for posting. Tootsie Rolls is mentioned in a lot of value investing books, so I'm always interested in learning more about the company. The stock hasn't moved much since 1998, but still seems expensive. Maybe I should have a closer look.
