Guest
[amazonsearch]The Lights in the Tunnel: Automation, Accelerating Technology and the Economy of the Future[/amazonsearch] I started reading this one today and it's pretty fascinating so far. So far, it's comparing technological advancement and economic consequences. Most of the time, we think of how technology improves the economy by helping us be more productive, efficient, etc. This book is taking a bit of the opposite view. It goes into detail about how quickly technology advances and how that very likely could displace a lot of "normal workers". This would then cause fewer buyers, companies then have to cut more employees due to lower demand, that leads to even few buyers, etc. It's futuristic and may or may not happen but it does make one think a bit.
