tyska Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I have been reading the stratagies of selling calls and buying puts and have what I'm sure is a simple question for someone here. With an interlisted stock like FFH that you purchased on the TSX and hold in a Cdn. dollar account. Seeing there are no Cdn. listed options if you sold a call on the US exchange is it considered a covered call? Thanks, Dan
RichardGibbons Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Yes, it is a covered call. If your broker doesn't recognize it, you can always move the shares from a Canadian-denominated account to a US-denominated account. I think I've done this in the past.
tyska Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 Thanks, it was just one of those things I thought would be that way but wasn't sure. Dan
