Sold DEO. This was a new position so I was able to get out with a small profit. I felt it might not be cheap enough given the low growth, and facing some LT headwinds.

Fortunately no tax considerations for me. Brk is 50% of my portfolio, I dont think it is outrageously overvalued but believe the odds are decent to re-enter sub 380 even with higher BV expected to be announced later this month

Yeh its not by much for sure.
I am not cap weighted indexed right now because the Mag7 are just soo much of the index.
I think there are times when it is better to be equal cap weighted and now might be one of them.
agree

I have shifted all my S&p 500 cap weighted index to VBR and RSP. I think the odds are decent for RSP and VBR to outperform cap weighted S&P 500

VIG - Vanguard Dividend Appreciation ETF
Intention is to preserve this year’s trading gains, reduce risk and lower trading velocity of my account by shifting some allocation to VIG as a core largest holding.
Also to have a liquid, more stable source for funds for tax loss selling trade opportunities from October to December.
i tend to do something similar. Stick some of my trading gains into RSP

With regard to the amount of cash, i wonder if it might be in "anticipation" of Buffett's (and/or Munger's) passing or resigning. While stepping down might allow Buffett to control the narrative, i assume that his death would result in quite the sell off. Hence, the cash hoard would be available for a buyback in size. The opportunity cost with 5% T-Bill rates is minimal as well. Just thinking out loud....
I have a similar train of thought. if the share price tanks it would be a blessing for new management

Wasn't it a one-time payment? I remember a one time 25$ payment like 10 years ago, can't recall any recurring payments.
In any case the credit card I used back then no longer exists so I'm not getting charged for sure.
could be, I should probably still be checking my credit card statements... Although I figure not checking is still cheaper than divorce

What the fuck, its 50usd !!! i need to start checking my credit card statements

38 was fortunate to have started working in 08 and putting everything i could into the market since then plus increasing salary.
Salary has probably peaked for me this year but not too bothered as I am about 3-5 years out from my target which is 2pct of my investment portfolio covering all expenses
