If banks are looking to go the Europe route are they really bargains?

sure, you can manage your rich Uncle's account, your wife's account and your neighbors account for free. But, in Ontario, and Canada generally, once you are: " in the business of trading, advising and dealing in securities" you need to register. Full stop. Consult a securities lawyer.

Bought a bit more FOX and a starter in ANTM.
Just curious, why FOX?

Google Finance stopped updating at 10:34 this morning for me... Looks like it might be dead, unless this is a temporary problem...
Having the same problem. Think you might be right.

It is the same thing if you listen to any south Asian station, probably worse. Not only commercials but programs dedicated to real estate. The euphoria is real and has been for several years.

My best investments this year haven't been stocks at all. It has been Ethereum (ETH) and Monero (XMR), my cost basis in both is in the single digits $USD. Not to mention BTC which has done well too.
As far as stocks I'm currently accumulating WFCF and POEFF.
Curious to what you use (and others) to trade these crypocurrencies. Is there not an inherent cash out risk?

They just announced a long list of exceptions to the foreign buyer tax e.g. it does not apply to: international students, refugees, people applying for PR, non-citizens employed in Ontario, etc...
It seems like these taxes/policies will be easy to avoid. My understanding is that the Chinese "investors" already use a bridgehead strategy where they get Chinese immigrants with full citizenship to act as buyers for pools of investors from china. Using this strategy would already satisfy the new requirements I have seen proposed this morning.

A lot of people have been commuting far distances because they are priced out of the GTA. A lot people have also bought houses far out, rent in Toronto for work and go home on weekends.

How do they enforce the vacancy tax? Do they now hire an army of secret police like the KGB to stake out apartments? If they monitor power, you can say you are a monk and do not use modern technology :)
In a downturn i think this type of policy would be hell.
Does anybody know any high quality real estate brokers?
