Are you going to pay tax on your capital gains?  At the very least, perhaps you should wait for the new year?

Imho, sell!  Don't get greedy!

 

Of course, you might not want to listen to me.  I sold my 2013s to harvest tax losses the day before the big run up.  After which they would have been gains.  Ouch!

The simplest answer is often the right one...sell half now, and sell the other half in the New Year to move some of the gains till next year.  Cheers!

Oh, you're referring to calls, as opposed to LEAPS. 

 

I guess it depends on your particular situation.  Sanjeev's strategy seems reasonable.

There's also the Templeton approach.  Sell enough to cover your original investment and then ride the rest out.
