Why do stocks have different symbols?

I may sound uneducated and stupid (for the most part that might be true), but I'm gonna ask anyway. Can't learn if you don't ask!

 

I think one is an ADR or something like that.

 

If we look at this one.  TKPYY and TKPHF. I tink the TKPYY is the ADR. But what exactly this is the other one? I think they are just regular shares demoninated in dollars.

 

Why do companies issues shares this way, as far as having ADRs and ordinary shares?

It's just something I've wondered for a while. I don't really buy foreign stocks very often or pink sheets, so I was curious.
