Fund Manager and Private Equity Manager Tax Rates Rise!

Well, it's about time!  The U.S. will be taxing fund managers and private equity managers at the 35% tax rate, rather than the lower capital gains rate of 15% some of them were paying.  We've been paying the full 35% at MPIC from day one, and treated it as ordinary income.  No more loophole for some of these guys!  Cheers!

You're saying it like it's a done deal.  The bill hasn't passed the Senate yet, and apparently that's where this measure has failed to pass before...  From the link:  "The tax on fund managers' pay faces opposition from some Democrats in the Senate, which could stall that measure."

I'd like to see this loophole closed too, but by lowering the 35% to 15%.
