  1. Let's talk about Fairfax as an investment, but discussion of the CEO and how the CEO is managing the company is not permitted. How often is Elon Musk's mental state or alleged manipulation discussed on the TSLA thread? It isn't called 'politics' when we're trying to understand the man in charge of a corporation.
  2. Nordstrom stands out for service.
  3. If the "churches will be packed by Easter" appeared out of touch, this explains things very well. Imagine if your therapist worked with you for years on learning the tool of how to "think magically" to get you through hard times. Was it all taught? https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trumps-magical-thinking-on-coronavirus-is-rooted-in-the-teachings-of-this-famous-pastor/ar-BB14pONf
  4. Watch the scene again where Robert Duvall is standing tall while everyone around him is taking shelter and he's acting like a war isn't going on all around him and nothing is going to scratch him, and he wants to surf the beach. It's all showbusiness.
  5. He reportedly wore a mask inside of the Ford plant but would not allow any photographs to be taken because he didn't want the press to get them. It really is about ego. My wife makes this great voice of a child digging in and refusing to eat his green beans. "No, I won't do it and you can't make me because I... DON'T... WAN'T... TO!!".
  6. We can get our almond milk in a pack of 3 at Costco for the same unit price as buying 1 at Walmart. And Walmart has no membership fee. Whole Foods is nicely tied to Amazon but we can't get a delivery time so what's the point? They need to hand out a 'ticket' and text me for scheduling delivery when my ticket number is called -- dropping the ball here.
  7. I overheard a woman yesterday saying "i'm not drinking the cool-aid" (walked into the medical office without a mask). People have bought into the "this is just a hoax" line and won't take precautions. All fallout from politicizing the virus, and this only costs lives and economic damage.
  8. Listen to you! The pot calling the kettle black! Sorry, I don't berate people.
  9. Thanks for more of your bloviating bullshit Liberty - keep going from one hoax to the next - just makes you look stupid. Now back to your meltdown. keep the stupidity coming bro... just makes you look stupid. try not to have a meltdown over the President's successes. cubsfan is abusive and controlling. He cannot tolerate the contribution of others if they do not agree with his core beliefs, so he berates them in an attempt to silence them..
  10. Are you sore that he spoke out against racists? It never bothered me. Trump is WAY WAY WAY more playing identity politics than Obama ever did, but somehow it doesn't seem to bother these guys. I wonder why? Gregmal repeatedly says that Obama created identity politics, but the Civil Rights movement and Feminists movements? Never heard of them. Remember Gregmal said he doesn't want a Trans person using the bathroom his daughter uses. Obama struck a nerve with GregMal, how dare Obama call him out for intolerance? That's what he is all about.
  11. Are you sore that he spoke out against racists? It never bothered me.
  12. Trump summoned them out from under their rocks with his April 17th tweet of “Liberate Michigan!”. In doing so, he was blaming the Governors for stay-at-home policy. Trump of course also had a stay at home policy of his own. It most definitely is motivated by his 2020 campaign — just a coincidence that Michigan is an important state to win and the Democratic governor gave the convention speech this year? She is being groomed by the party and would be an ideal running mate for Biden. She is like a brainy Sarah Palin. The other candidates like Warren and Klobuchar need to retain their seats in Congress for the party. Trump even directed Pence not to answer her calls as he has been scheming to undermine Michigan’s success.
  13. It’s relatively easier for Japan to stay open if (in general) fewer moms were working to begin with.
  14. It’s not just schools but daycares now that summer break is almost here. Are people meant to leave the 5 yr old at home while they go back to work?
  15. Life comes before Liberty in the Constitution. Selfish assholes won’t wear a mask to save lives of others. I see it in my own county. Few are wearing masks in a busy store and these guys are the ones screaming the loudest about the California governors orders — they fail to see that they are driving R0 higher and freedom further away.
  16. I also thought it was very interesting what Cuomo said. Why is the administration only ordering proper masks to be produced for front-line workers? Trump is visiting one such plant this Friday, and Trump had to be told that he must wear a mask (and this no doubt is because Pence showed up at Mayo without one, and claimed he didn't know about their mask requirement).
  17. No, Cubs was quoting Woods as he was some sort of expert. Great actor, but I don't think he qualifies as an independent expert. And no one here to my knowledge was quoting any of the many actors who don't agree with Trump. Actors are not necessary to quote as there are so many experts available who disagree with Trump He may just very well be a Trump expert: The case was moving along... and then something bizarre happened. Abe List (whoever that is) died (unexpectedly, apparently). Woods then took to Twitter to obnoxiously gloat about "winning" the case, leaving out the fact that the case was ending due to the death of the defendant. After people pointed out to Woods how ridiculous it was that he was gloating over a "victory" when someone had died, the ever classy Woods, gloated some more, first saying he hoped that List died "screaming my name. in agony" and then later saying: "Learn this. Libel me, I'll sue you. If you die, I'll follow you to the bowels of Hell. Get it?" https://www.techdirt.com/articles/20170103/16424336399/confirmed-horrible-person-james-woods-continues-being-horrible-winning-awful-lawsuit-to-unmask-deceased-online-critic.shtml
  18. You are generalizing. Nobody on this board is quoting Liberal actors. The painful thing about the James Woods' quote was that it provided no information -- just his opinion, and oh yeah it matters 'cause he's famous. James Woods likes Trump and not Obama, so gee whiz guys, you Liberals surely have no answer to that one! Quite silly.
  19. He is famous. Many are impressed by that.
  20. There was a time when the US's enemies criticized the UN for being the US's puppet. Trump left a vacant US seat unfilled at the WHO and is now withdrawing funding. I don't think the UN will be accused of being Trump's puppet with this behavior.
  21. Yeah, we need WHO about as much as we need the UN - both are worthless organizations. Let's keep funding them though! How about we don’t fill the open US seat for years at the WHO and then complain. That’s what he did.
  22. The President who didn't fill the US seat at the WHO, and who now claims the US has less influence than China at the WHO? The one who loudly praised the Chinese handling of the virus on Twitter in late January? Who ignored US Intelligence warnings about the virus? And now blames the WHO as part of a CYA compaign that includes blaming the governors for the US's stay-at-home response at a time when the Federal guidelines recommended stay-at-home? Right... nice to see all of that. Trump taking on corruption is the most laughable idea I've ever heard. It's like OJ Simpson saying he's going to find the murderer... Anyone who seriously believes that, I have a bridge to sell them. Trump is looking for someone to blame for his shortcomings and incompetence, as usual, and the WHO is just one of the latest victims. The WHO might be too heavily influenced by China. I have never disputed that. I have merely pointed out that Trump has withdrawn the US’s influence — if someone filled the void, how unexpected.
  23. More straw man: first false attribution, and then attacking. The irony is that you are making excuses for Trump whose withdrawal of US presence and funding from the WHO cedes greater influence to China. The European Union and Australia led the calls for an investigation (not the US): https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/19/china/wha-pandemic-inquiry-resolution-vote-intl/index.html
  24. Helps explain the delayed US coronavirus response -- keeping these positions staffed is whose responsibility?: https://www.npr.org/2020/04/10/832131788/unfilled-or-acting-positions-in-federal-agencies-delay-u-s-response-to-epidemic
  25. The President who didn't fill the US seat at the WHO, and who now claims the US has less influence than China at the WHO? The one who loudly praised the Chinese handling of the virus on Twitter in late January? Who ignored US Intelligence warnings about the virus? And now blames the WHO as part of a CYA compaign that includes blaming the governors for the US's stay-at-home response? Right... nice to see all of that. Didn't Trump and his administration make many of the mistakes he is criticizing WHO for? Reminds me of this Canadian classic: Whenever he points the finger we need to be looking closely at him because that's what he does when he messes up. Anyone with children knows this one. My wife does employee investigations in an HR role and has to fire lots of employees like him. He's that bad boss who takes credit for everything he had nothing to do with, and blames others for everything that goes wrong. It's incredible that he has been running the country for more than 3 years and has made no mistakes -- his predecessor made them all and we know this because he left the cupboards bare (of course, poor Donald, there was nothing he could do for 3 years with a bare cupboard).
