  1. Not likely at all IMHO. Why rush when Mr. Market is not giving you a bargin? The operating business is booming, they are retiring a ton of stock, and cash is at a record high. Ted Williams strike zone anyone? I dont think so...
  2. At its peak - I wonder what % of Teleydne's operating income was spent on buybacks ?? Did Teleydne ever pay a dividend? Also, it looks like CAPEX for Berkshire for the first 9M's is $6-7B, so clearly they are reinvesting back into the business as well.
  3. BRK is turning into a serial cannibal of its own shares. Teledyne 2.0 ?
  4. FYI for what it is worth Tilson just came out with an updated valuation of $361 per share of the B's ... his valuation approach is fairly straight forward and one WEB has written about in the past.
  5. $1.45B - back in 2002/2003 ... prob worth a lot more in today's market IMHO
  6. If you compare reinsurance losses vs. some of the other major reinsurance companies, it was actually less than expected. A little surprised by GEICO's loss in the quarter actually. @Gregmaltotally - but as a BERK fanboy, I do enjoy this. Cheers!
  7. Weird - no one has posted here yet on this. Very solid operating income - as expected insurance did post a sizable loss - but to be expected. Buyback was larger then expected as well... $7.7B in the quarter - which is about $2B higher then I was expected ... WEB seems to like this $270 - $280 range right now. BHE/BNSF/MSR are killing it. I'm still reading the Q - but this is some initial thoughts. Think about it - sharecount is down 10% in 2 years ... while cash is at record levels.
  8. This is interesting https://www.reuters.com/business/under-buffetts-wing-us-fuel-retailer-pilot-leaps-into-oil-trading-eyes-refining-2021-11-01/
  9. Thought I'd start a thread for 3Q 2021 earnings which comes out on 11/6 at 8am EST I believe Things I'm interesting in looking at: 1) buyback pace/rate 2) BNSF profitability 3) insurance and reinsurance business ... GEICO and Reinsurance are two things I'd like to take a better look at 4) MSR overall 5) BHE overall Others??
  10. Thanks! Will spot check this and clean it up a bit. Very helpful - given that we are approaching nearly $50B worth of buybacks at this point
  11. Would anyone possibly have the complete list of all Berkshire buybacks? I realize I can pull this manually from the Q - but it takes time. I'm looking for: Date, Price, Buyback Price, Share Class type etc. I've seen imagines of the cumulative amount etc - but looking for the raw data. Thanks a lot!!
  12. On the positive side - Davis is a huge fan of buybacks with regards to Berkshire. Sussie is ridiculous and poor choice
  13. No. I havent heard anything regarding BHE's plan. The way it is structured is brilliant. I'd reminder everyone of the 9.9% regulated return. You also have BHE WILLING to be fined if they cannot deliver on their commitments. I really wish BHE was more aggressive with ONCOR several years ago. That would have been a material transaction and benefited both customers and Berkshire overall. Even still the D pipeline deal was done at a very attractive level still...

  15. Maybe they can do something creative here, whereby Greg Abel acquires his stake from the Scott family, with Berkshire financing it at a very low cost. I'd love to see that.
  16. I get all of that. I just find it really interesting that BHE is the operator, given that D owns 50%/majority, and BIP claims to be master operators. BHE's operational expertise is second to none imho. I'd like to see headquarters expand more into the regulated utility space smartly...who knows a possible distressed utility deal may come-up over the next few years.
  17. Anyone know why BHE operates this? Given that D owns 50% and BAM which owns 25% claims to be master operators. Interesting: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/maryland-cove-point-lng-export-161500751.html
  18. Would you mind sharing this spreadsheet with all of us? This way we can adjust our own assumptions? -VM
  19. True. I added some this AM @ 280.50 or thereabouts.
  20. I agree BRK is cheap here as well. It's stalled a bit into this Covid re-uptick over the last 6-8 weeks, but that will pass. I'll be increasing my exposure slowly at these levels as well. Interesting: Over the past 3 months the S&P is up +7.3%, while BRK is down -3.6%
