I bot some BRKb too and a little TD.

Yeah that's it, my bad if I missed reference above.

I assumed that Clipper was ripping due to a passing mention on my blog. Now that you mention it, however, I think I read some article about firming rents and exploding demand for NYC apartments today, maybe in WSJ.

Yeah I ended up using the bigs to buy another smaller REIT, definitely cheaper on current metrics, but definitely not an Amazonian land bank either.

Similarly, sold my $JBGS yesterday. Thinking of cashing in my AIRC and EQR for some useless fiat.

Would you pay/crowdfund for good posts?

JPM WFC USB and "others" announced an initiative yesterday to share data to try and serve subprime customers better and issue credit cards to people with no FICO scores (using this data in underwriting). Seems like an endorsement of that aspect of their model (obtaining and using this "alt" data from the customer bank account), but also potentially more competition.

I mean if he donated to his foundation that would be enough to explain some face time. It's going to take a lot more than innuendos, likely planted by Melinda's divorce team, in a Murdoch property to persuade me. But I will try and keep an open mind and see what happens.

We did that already bros.

That’s where I got on it (admittedly little work). Maybe a bit better than those title companies that were all the rage years ago. They do seem to place some of the risk with regional and small banks. I always think like low end financials are scary because reported figures look amazing until they blow up (and timeframes for incentives are really, really not aligned). I do acknowledge the spac sponsors seem like super smart subprime finance guys. but hey affirm reinvented lay-away.

Yeah, probably just nerves or a tick. People made a big deal about it several years ago when he first spoke. 160+ I.Q.s don't usually come without costs. Perhaps he will never be a motivational wealth coach.

Interesting that CEO flagged USB as having a competitive offering.

I agree 100%. I'm surprised by all the hullabaloo. I'm pretty sure Munger already said "Greg and Ajit will keep doing x" like two years ago and I mean was there any doubt he was tentatively (David Sokol was almost certainly the guy at one point so stuff can change...hell Warren could outlive Greg....wouldn't be a world record) the guy when during the covid shutdown there were two people on the screen and one was Greg Abel? Like I wrote on my blog last year after the meeting it was really comforting to hear him talk last year. He gets the model (at least as I understand it).

WSJ article on the matter. Asserts that after Buffett leaves there could be a battle for control with these institutions and the long time holders. https://www.wsj.com/articles/warren-buffett-faces-impatient-investors-as-berkshire-hathaway-returns-decline-11619794480?mod=hp_lead_pos4

Buffett/Berkshire - general news
CorpRaider replied to fareastwarriors's topic in Berkshire Hathaway
Thanks. I will table it then. I listen to far too many podcasts as it is. I bought that new "Capital Allocation" book about early Berk. Not a fan of the lack of formatting/options in the kindle store version (it's basically a PDF, so no changing fonts or anything), might be better to get a hard copy. -

Is this worth it? I thought it might be a bit of old hat for the Berkers. -
Freedom, but with bumper rails. Wabuffo is right as usual in my opinion. Didn't we also have Decentralized finance "DeFi" before? With hundreds (thousands?) of different non-sovereign currencies in the form of bank notes. floating around in all these confidence games My understanding (from light reading; I'm sure we have far more weighty authorities on the board) is that people were very skeptical of the new fangled "greenback" but something had to be done with all the scandals and failures and frictions imposed upon the greater commerce from all these little financial sovereigns. It seems like Dogecoin might equate to some sketchy Ohio frontier banknote that was kind of a joke back east.

I went and voted my proxys for the tiny amount of B shares I have in favor of management's recommendations just because of this issue.

Congrats on the new site. It looks great! I have to figure out how to give negative reputation...

Got my first shot at Walgreens in NC. Everything went well, got shot and left basically before appointment.

Yeah, good points. Maybe it also drops the future healthcare cost/drag on productivity.
