  1. It's a big hit for the deplorables and irredeemables that voted Trump in - the lowest common denominator of America that are looking for a little hope and inspiration when their lives are at stake. It's a very forgiving crowd the understands someone is making an effort working 24 x 7 to help them. They could care less that he does not have the eloquence of the empty suit snake oil salesman that the last President was.
  2. This looks like a bi-partisan effort: https://thehill.com/policy/national-security/491119-momentum-grows-to-change-medical-supply-chain-from-china Calls are growing for the U.S. to reduce its dependence on China for key medicines and supplies as Americans face widespread shortages in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. While the U.S. supply chain's heavy reliance on China for medical manufacturing has been glaringly apparent for roughly two decades, both lawmakers and administration officials say the virus has exposed just how vulnerable the country is as it leans on Beijing and other nations to help provide the tools necessary to combat the pathogen. In a further sign of how vulnerable the U.S. is, more than 50 countries including the U.K. and India have imposed some sort of export ban on essential medicines amid the pandemic.
  3. You are funny today - you spend all your time slamming Trump, with nary a mention of De Blasio. But Trump is responsible for the NYC nightmare!
  4. --Rush Limbaugh, January 2009 (when America was in the throes of the GFC). Its telling that there biggest mess here is the cesspool called NYC where you live. You've got your mayor and your governor, both whom have handled things vastly differently. Both of whom you elected. And you blame Trump.... Hey don't knock it - at least they are politically correct!
  5. Here it comes... Sorry about the Kafka nightmare for you...you just hate it when it gets turned around to you.
  6. You guys are funny actually. If you haven't noticed, Donald Trump is clearly in charge here. Worse yet for you - his poll numbers are at an all time high right now. You get to suck on that for a while. Too bad. Reason: Americans are glued to his daily crisis briefings. They are seeing a leader clearly in charge attempting to navigate the biggest crisis of their lives - while you and the fake news second guess him. Americans are on to your pettiness and vitriol. I know it's tough for you to swallow - but hey, so was the Russia Hoax, the Ukraine impeachment joke, the Kavanaugh hearings, etc. No wonder Rachel Maddow and The NY Times editorial staff are DEMANDING that the Trump daily briefings be stopped. Trump is sucking all the oxygen out of the Biden room. Sorry fellas, I know the truth hurts.
  7. THAT IS EXACTLY RIGHT. Many people still do not understand populism - you can be a billionaire and still be a populist. And in that regard, I have to hand it to Bernie Sanders - he's a genuine populist, not an community organizer turned elitist like Obama.
  8. Don't forget "all the problems" that Trump inherited from Obama. In other words, the blame game is a well-worn tool in Trump's chest. This article tries hard but falls well short of exonerating Trump. Don't worry about the legacy issues he inherited from Obama - he's destroyed most of them already, thank goodness. He can handle it. The identity politics and political correctness monsters are still out there (thank you Barrack for dividing the country, instead of uniting us- your lasting legacy) When this is finished: the fake news will be forever tarnished, China will get fixed, Iran will be in their rightful place for the good of the world, and Trump will rebuild America by delivering back jobs forever. Oh, yea, only if Trump is re-elected - since NO Democrats OR Republican has the guts to do the right thing for the American people.
  9. LOL Thank you for sharing, Mike, [here, you're my kind of guy!] Pretty much the same here - space for improvement. [We really need to look at the bright side in this situation.] You bet John! We need some humor around this place. I've been thinking of asking my cop buddy if I could borrow his service revolver - so if you don't hear from me.....
  10. It's a blessing being locked up with the wife for 3 weeks now. We've caught up on everything I've done wrong for the last 15 years.
  11. Excellent article, particularly as it lays out timelines of politician's and media blunders so conveniently buried for self-interest... What's the point? Author's summary: Clearly, few people in public life will emerge unscathed from the blame game if we ask everyone the same questions: What did you know, when did you know it and what did you do about it? On the other hand, mutual destruction is neither required nor desirable, and there is a better option. We can just skip the blame game for now and work together to help America get through this worst of times. Think of that as the patriotic choice.
  12. If you value your defense industries - why not drugs, medical equipment and tech. Control our destiny with our allies. Less dependence on China. I agree. The rich have gotten richer by selling us out to China. The economy is so broken we have to keep interest rates low and run huge deficits or it'll implode. Most people don't have that much money....so of course things aren't going to function normally. Paul - you might enjoy this Kyle Bass interview that discusses the bipartisan corruption and risk associated with the China relationship. The military aspects are quite facinating as well.
  13. Stubby - get specific with your accusations please. What did I say about Canada? Where have I commented about Canada? What the fuck is your problem? You probably haven't. Drinking and posting on Saturday night is likely not a great combination. Peace and apologies. SJ I had to laugh when I read this- good for you - Peace Stubble - I hope to buy you a beer one of these days.
  14. Stubby - get specific with your accusations please. What did I say about Canada? Where have I commented about Canada? What the fuck is your problem?
  15. I used the word liar, because you are. You accuse me of hating the poor people of Cuba which is your bold faced lie. Man up for once Cwericb.
  16. Now I KNOW you are a really smart guy Rb. You really want to give Xi and China a PASS on this one? Seriously. You KNOW Xi knew exactly what was happening. Did he stop sending THOUSANDS of people into Toronto, Vancouver, etc? Maybe next to WWII and WWI - this is one of the greatest disasters of the last 100 years - and you are going to defend these guys. I KNOW you are smart Rb - but are you for real?? Cubsfan, I have stayed out of this silliness all day. But if you are truly that paranoid, you should be goddamned worried about what the Administration has chosen to do. The US has kicked its nearest neighbour in the teeth, and anyone who has a paranoid streak should be a bit concerned that its neighbour will gravitate towards China as a result. Would you like to see your neighbor invite China to establish military bases in the south of Nova Scotia and on Vancouver Island? How would you like a hundred or so missiles with nuclear warheads located in Manitoba? It's definitely not going to happen, but if you are at all as paranoid as you seem, you should be very distressed that your government is antagonizing its northern neighbour. Keeping a close relationship with Canada and Mexico should be a no-brainer for the US. SJ What in the world is your problem Stubble? What have I said about Canada? What? I've been talking about China all day. Are you crazy or what?
  17. That's what it looks like to me. We're going to need those good jobs. We are totally self sufficient in energy and food. It was great to break our dependence on the Middle East Oil. Dependence on China is next. And like you said - this has always been a Bi-partisan issue - sold as a bill of goods to the American working class. "Don't worry, it will all work out" When a republican or democrat tells you that - grab your wallet.
  18. If you value your defense industries - why not drugs, medical equipment and tech. Control our destiny with our allies. Less dependence on China.
  19. Give it some time. They are probably not out of the woods. Every country in Latin America has it now. I was quite surprised when my relatives told me. Not only CV, but a massive Dengue fever outbreak as well. Unfortunately, they will probably get creamed. The Dengue outbreak is well into the millions - and my uncle just died from Dengue. The hospitals are overloaded in many countries. But as you know from Cwericb - I won't care - cause they are poor and all deserve it.
  20. Mcliu - what a pleasure it is to have someone with some intellectual honesty here. Much too rare.
  21. To be fair, it’s not just the US, 68 countries have banned exports of PPE.. https://globalnews.ca/news/6769162/canada-medical-supplies-coronavirus/ Germany blocks truck full of protective masks headed for Switzerland https://www.thelocal.com/20200309/germany-blocks-protective-masks-headed-for-switzerland More important question is not whether US will provide masks but why a so-called advanced nation like Canada cannot even produce enough masks for its own people.. Nice find Mcliu - kudos to you for providing some unbiased balance to this topic. Cwericb - read it and weep. 68 countries have banned exports of PPE. Cwericb - ...and I am still waiting for you to prove out your bold faced lie....
  22. Feel free show me bold faced liar.
  23. You really don't need to be a boldfaced liar because we disagree on politics. Feel free to show me anything remotely close to your accusation. . I've said the Communist government of Cuba has failed their people for 60 years and the welfare of the people is the responsibility of the Cuban government. So grow up already.
  24. You aren't insinuating that I hate poor people - now are you?
  25. Cwericb - make sure you let us know how your Thank you goes over with your new "true friend" President Xi and China. Very wise choice on your part.
